Human Resource Management (HCM) can be best defined as “the function within an organization that focuses on the recruitment of, management of, and providing direction for the people who work in an organization.” For the successful operation of an organization, the members within HRM department provide the training, legal and management advice, administrative services, knowledge, talent management oversight, and necessary tools. While a majority of HR managers are responsible for ensuring team building and inspiring employee empowerment, a minority of them are charged with additional responsibilities such as, event management, community and employment outreach, mentoring, and employee engagement activities. For example, a critical aspect a good manager should have is accountability because the goals and objectives will be better met if a manager exhibits strong accountability qualities. A great manager should also be able to take in a lot of information, make informed decisions, and execute on the decision. When asked what employee management was and how Nichole approached it, her response was that an effective employee management requires manager to set expectations, boundaries, and service behavior.
