In recent decades performance management is getting a lot of importance and consideration for the reason being the changing economic conditions and tight competitive market. In this fast and competitive environment instead of waiting for improvement in external environmental factors organizations are looking for improving the internal factors so that they can sustain in the market and for this reason organizations are focusing on managing and improving the performance of the employees.
The main purpose of this project is to find out ‘what makes employees go that extra mile?’. So in this project we will be discussing the different aspects that can play a role for motivating employees and are responsible for good and poor performance. As performance management is “a continuous process of identifying, measuring, and developing the performance of individuals and teams and aligning performance with strategic goals of the organization”.
The role of front line managers in improving the performance of the employees is discussed in detail in this project. It totally depends on the line managers that how fairly, skilfully and consistently they are using performance management tools like holding
