Population On our world there are about seven billion people living at once. With all the resources available to us versus the increasing rate of people born a year, we will face a huge problem of surviving. Our earth will not be able to sustain more than ten billion people and with the rate of births versus deaths per year, seven billion is closely approaching ten billion in a matter of decades. If we do not change the amount of resources we consume and create efficient ways to reduce total consumption of resources we will be doomed. Scientists predict that there in only fifty thousand days left we will have oil accessible to us. In terms of food, we are able to substitute oil for certain fruits and for plastic using aluminum, glass, etc. However, the most troubled issue for the future is transportation. Planes, cars, trucks, etc. are all prime examples of essential oil users. We still have not been able to solve the issue of creating efficient energy to replace oil. Electricity is not at the point where we are able to replace oil. Oil is important for our survival however, we must be able to adapt to a point where we have a shortage of it. Energy all around us. If we are able to harness it and efficiently convert this energy to cause it to benefit us, it becomes an important to us. Energy is, “The strength and vitality required for physical or mental activity.” What we use energy is for electricity, heat, environment, etc. For electricity, we use it daily to power light bulbs to illuminate any darkness around us and power technology that keep us entertained, informed on daily occurrences and interact with people online. Without electricity, we would revert to using candles for illumination like our ancestors did and technology would be disconnected and unusable.
