“Jeff! Mia! Liu!” Yelled Margaret. “Come on! We have to get the rest of the stuff packed up!” She yelled again. “We're coming mom!” Mia yelled back. “Why do we have to move again?” Asked her younger brother by a year. “Because dad got that stupid promotion” Jeff grumpily explained as he lifted up one of the last boxes. “Come on Jeff, it can't be that bad. We are after all moving closer out into the country. Imagine all the cool places we will be able to explore. Cheer up bro.” As she grabbed the last few things and ran down the stairs. She couldn't wait to get out of this stuffy city. Especially since she got bullied quite a bit for being different.
Haley had just landed in Chicago O’hare airport, it had been at least 4 hours since she left Sioux falls, SD. “ Right now it’s 8 am and I have my next flight at 10.” she told the man she was standing next to that was getting on the same flight as, but she didn’t realize that. She couldn’t believe it was finally coming true, at 19 Haley was going to go live away from everybody and go to college to get her beginning classes to become a nurse in New York City, New York. Little did she know her plans were going to change very quickly and she would be in a critical condition.
Lucas looked down at the floor and smiled. A whole pile of books had just been knocked over by a couple of rowdy school children. Their bulky school bags swinging into bookcases and unsuspecting customers. The day had been long and hard, but he was not one to complain. Lots of books unpacked from their boxes and put on the shelves, and heaps of sweeping. The dust always on the floors or the bookshelves. Lucas looked at his watch. In about half an hour he was out of here and off to see Sarah. His big sister was coming for a holiday.
"Today is going to be the worst day of my life." Thought Christine Howell as she pulled herself out of bed. Today is Monday, but it's not just any regular day for Christine. It's the beginning of a journey. "CRISTINE!" Yelled her mom, calling her down for breakfast. "Coming!" As Christine ran down the staircase she noticed something different about her sister. "Taya." She said. "I can't talk right now. I'm about to be the most important girl in school." Taya responded. Christine's mom shot
The month of June came in a rush. Before I knew it the season of senior activities had begun; prom arrived, our senior picnic at the park happened, and graduation practice was held. Yet none of these events could compete with graduation day. The night before June 14th, the excitement of the approaching event continuously nibbled at precious hours of sleep, and for once I couldn’t wait for my alarm to go off. When it finally did, I jumped up out of bed, all ready to start the day. After the time spent to get dressed in the appropriate attire had passed, those who I live with—my mother, brother, and younger sister—had all been ready. My excitement increased then, but I don’t think it surpassed my mother’s own excitement. Practically shoving me into the car to get me on the way to graduation, my mother and I wore a grin the whole way to the Siegel Center, despite my little sister asking a million questions in the backseat, and despite the traffic that had grown with the other graduates trailing behind. With even
In the morning, the mini-cooper’s not parked in Graydon’s driveway. I’m pleased, and wish she never shows up again. Neither is his Porsche. It’s either in the garage or he’s not home. Oh, well. I’ll check on his whereabouts later. Today the doctor’s office squeezed my mom in on short notice. That is, after I mentioned her car accident and abuse of doctor prescribed sleeping pills.
“Allison, what do you think that was all about?” The eldest asked her sister. “ How am i supposed to know Emily?” Allison replied. They both turned to the youngest as if expecting an answer. “Naomi, do you know?” the sisters asked in unison. “I dunno, somethin’ about Paris.” she said plainly. The elder sisters just rolled their eyes. “Do you think we’re going on another vacation?” Allison asked excitedly, her eyes sparkling. “Ya, that’s likely, considering we’re in utah visiting family right now.” Emily said sarcastically. They were about to spout some more ideas, when their Parents came back into the room.
Dangit! I'm gonna be late!" He darted into the kitchen and swiped up his bag and his keys, then ran out the door, frantically fumbling with the keys to lock the door behind him. Once it was finally locked, he started running to his bus stop, hissing as the rain hit him and attempted to soak his hair. He dashed to the bus stop, seeing his bus about to leave. Feeling grateful, he smiled at the bus driver, Mrs. Kenna, and sat in his usual seat behind her as she started driving. "Good morning Justin, did you almost sleep in?" Justin blushed with frustration and embarrassment, shaking his head in view of her mirror and letting raindrops fall out of his hair. "No, just took awhile eating breakfast and picking my outfit." Mrs. Kenna smiles kindly, "It's okay, you know I always wait a bit extra if you haven't gotten here yet." Justin smiles, "Yeah, I know." "If it helps, you look nice as usual." Justin beamed at her, letting her compliment sink in and drown out the frustrated thought swimming in his head. "Thank you, Mrs. Kenna." She nods and smiles as their conversation ends, leaving her to drive and him to stare out the window in awe at the flowers they pass by.
The sparkling sun shined against the windows onto the furniture. “Today will be a good day, and I’m going to have the best birthday week. I can just feel it” exclaimed Mia in her cheerful voice. It was a beautiful day in Los Angeles, California and Mia knew nothing would ruin her perfect 18th birthday. There was no school because it was spring break, and Mia was going to have the biggest birthday she had ever had. “Mia! Riley! Kyle!” shouted the father of the three children, Matt Jones, as he approached the front door with a carry on suitcase. As the children walked one by one down the stairs, they presented their parents with the I’m-not-sure-what’s-going-on-here mindset, looking more confused than ever right at their father. “Your mother and I have been called down to Spain for a last minute business meeting that we have to attend, or our job can be on the line here” stated Mr. Jones. “What! Today is my 18th birthday. Today is the day that I can finally call myself an adult. Today is supposed to be one of the greatest days of my life, and you... you’re leaving?” Hollered Mia with her despondent face towards the both of her parents. “Don’t you worry honey, we 'll be back at night just before your special day ends. We will leave you guys with extra money and food just in case, but we need you to stay in the house until we come home. This is not the safest place you’d leave your kids alone. However, we’re going to have to work with
“We should be home by tonight and don’t you worry, if we cannot make it home by tonight we will catch the first plane early in the morning” Matt replied with a sincere look on his face. Matt and Tracy were headed to their car that was going to pick them up and take them to the airport when they were approached by Riley. Riley always understood the insane schedule of her parents’ jobs and she was always understanding towards them no matter what. Riley was more mature than most kids her age because most 12 year olds wouldn’t think as hard as Riley did when a situation came up. “Bye mom and dad, have a safe trip” Riley answered to her parents just as they were about to get in the car. As everyone said their final goodbyes, Mr. Jones and Mrs. Jones drove off in a taxi looking as bright as the sun.
Monday morning , with Halloween weekend approaching. Henry awakes Mr. Lambert while trying to fix him a small breakfast quietly. “ Goddamn it boy , keep it down.” He wasn 't a drunk , but sounded like it sometimes .He worked so hard at night he would most of the time fall asleep on the sofa in his work clothes . Henry was about to walk out the door before being stopped by his half awaken dad . “ How come I don 't see you around before I leave for work?” “ Your not doing drugs are you boy?” “ No sir , just hanging with friends , trying to have fun before I start college and work.” Mr. Lambert gets up placing his hand on Henry 's shoulder. “ Just remember , as long as you don 't get into any trouble and make something out of life , I will be proud of you.” “ Your mom I know is already proud of you.” They both began to cry , hugging each other. “ I think she is proud of you to dad.” “ Yeah well , I sometimes think I can do better , but I always try my best.” Henry grabbed his bag , driving away in his blue Pontiac . He picked up the rest of the gang , Colleen was in a panic “ Did y 'all see the breaking news this morning?” “ A girl is missing ,from our school , I think her name is Shelly?” Henry takes a deep breath . “ So it starts , now we really need to be careful.” They were in deep throught quietly on the way to school . Erika was still at home resting , but expected back soon . Henry parked in the student section , everybody quiet . “ Just remember , me and Colleen are
*Ding ding ding good morning* She rubbed her eyes and unlocked her Samsung j5. Her wallpaper instantly reminded her about how Thea can’t make a joke, but Nina, she’s the best, so funny and just the best in the world. The footsteps are getting louder coming up the stairs. They came bursting into the room. “Wake up, Angel, you got a busy day of school ahead.” Ugh, it was Phil. He went straight up to the blinds letting the sunlight stream in. Oh FFS! Piss off! What she would love to say to him, but he would have spanked her. Go away was even a stretch of her authority. “Dad," (she used to call him daddy, but you can’t have two of them) "could you please leave?" Phil walked out like a stroppy teenager who just got rejected by the ugliest person in the school (Logan) *the SC nose*xqueenhoe she instantly clicked right on it (for a change, that's right, I throw shade). "So wanna go to Starbucks?" Frank chuckled, I nodded quickly. "Okay lets go!" He grabbed my arm, and pulled me up, I laughed. He let go of my arm, "Ray 's probably freaking out, and Mikes is probably looking through lockers." I laughed, Frank shrugged, Frank skipped most classes almost everyday. We walked into the Starbucks, "Hey Alexis, Ashlen!" Ashlen, and Alexis waved they looked bored.
“Watch it Tyrek!”I cry.Tyrek just smiles and runs off.I rub my shin, moaning.Tyrek sprinted back with two popsicles, one cherry which I take, and the other lime, which he keeps. “What? Is little miss June mad?”Tyrek crooned.”Oh shut up will you?” I say, licking my already-melting popsicle. We live right next to each other,so we visit each other by opening the loose wooden panel in the gate and letting ourselves in or out.Right now we're sitting on Tyrek’s porch my pet dog, or our dog, Sprinkles in between us.”So,what are you going to do after school this year?”Tyrek asks. ”Well,I might be joining the newspaper,I mean like,be a writer or something.” Me and Tyrek are now moving from Martin Luther Jr. elementary to Martin Luther Jr. Middle school.Kind of a coincidence if you think about it. “I should have known,” Tyrek says. “What do you mean?”. “I mean,I knew you would have done something as boring as doing stories for the newspaper and whatnot.”. “Really? Then what are you gonna do?” I ask,a smug smile on my face. But it quickly fades away when I see the other June,or Corky,as I like to call her, walking toward us. “Oh hey Tyrek!” she says. “I just wanted to give you an invitation to totally FAB birthday party!”. “Oh hello June!” Corky says,a sooo fake smile on her face. “I would like to invite you to my B-day,but um.. oops!I guess I have no more!” Corky, said twirling her short curls.Notice I’m still using her nickname..ha! “Ok Cor- I mean June.I never wanted to come anyway,” I say a
“Lexie!” her mom screamed, “Get down here or you’re going to miss the bus!” Lexie grabbed her backpack and ran down the steps and out the door, knocking down everything in her way. She sprinted to her bus stop and jumped in as the doors were halfway closed. She sat in seat 15 like she always did with her best friend, Isabelle. She had long red hair, brighter than an apple that seemed to glow in the bright lights in the morning sunrise. She also had long legs that came up unusually high when sitting in the small bus seats. Her bright blue eyes shined like the ocean even in the foggy morning. They rode to school, talking quietly and laughing nonstop. When they got to school, they parted ways and said their goodbyes as they started another normal, boring school day.
