1. Introduction
a. “Unfortunately, for the rest of us today, Sarah has left the market. We’d like to thank Graham for his part, he found a girl for who he can easily say that every man who has ever meant her has had a crush on her at one point or another”( Jason 2007)
b. This quote was taken from a wedding toast given by the best man called Jason H.
c. Jason was speaking about the meaning of marriage and gave advice to the bride and groom of this wedding in his speech.
d. Today, I will be speaking about the origination of the speech, the context of the speech, and the delivery of the speech.
Transition to first main point: Firstly, I will be talking about the structure of the speech. 7G

In this speech, there was a clear introduction, body, and conclusion.
Transition: While the basic structure of a well prepared speech was included, the minor details were also included. ii. The Speaker used attention getters, transition, thesis and other important parts of any speech.
1. For Example the attention getter of this speech was, “ As you are all aware, I am the one who originally introduced Sarah and Graham.”().
2. Another example of great organization was this thesis which was, “So to commemorate this mightily union I want to discuss briefly the meaning of marriage.”( Jason 2007).
Transition: The organization of the speech was structured well; however, the content was even better.
b. The three main points of this speech was very effective and very unique.
i. The speaker used the letters of the word marriage to create the context of his speech which was a very unique
Transition: Because these points were unique this made them much more special. ii. The first point of her speech was the first 2 letters which are MA.
1. He used these letters to represent the emotions and devotion of marriage. He also used it show that marriage means family.
Transition: The next letter of marriage is I. iii. He speakers second main point was the
organizing the body of the speech; more specifically, the use of main points, supporting points,
The book has a section entitled, “Marriage is traditional” and in that particular section it mentioned about how “marriage has changed over time.” When examined current day marriage trends show that people are looking for partnership or soul mates, not for the most traditional reasons of the past. The idea that one person is supposed to be with one person for the rest of their life is no longer relevant. It is possible to have many happy years with one person, but that does not mean that these people will die together. People can have a falling out. Situations change—people do grow. If people stayed stagnant their whole lives, where would society be? With the way
Before the delivering of the speech, preparation is crucial given that it gives the speaker a clear clue of what his should talk about, how he can organize his speech and how he can perform well in front of specific groups of audiences. Once my topic is decided, according to Joshua, I should further narrow my topic and find the most three points, which are the “magic numbers (136)”, by going through the general speech purpose. In this case, my purpose is “to inform or teach” about myself, thus I chose “anime”, “horror movie”, and “spicy food”. I started preparing through this point, yet I failed to consider more about my “organization”. In my original speech outline, I simply put these all three things together without considering any order. As it says that “you want to do so in a way that is manageable to you as a speaker and memorable to a listening audience (Joshua, 135)”, speaker should better to create an organized speech for audience. Considering that I want to emphasize who I am, I should use topical order which tells different characteristics. By correcting my original speech outline, the “spicy food” which tells about my identity should go first, then “horror movie” goes next, and at last my favorite “anime” on which I should strongly emphasize should end the speech.

Marriage unites two people for better or worse, in sickness and health, until death they do part. In earlier times, some people might say wedding vows were taken more seriously; other say divorce was different back in the day. Looking at Katie Chopin and Nathaniel Hawthorne, who both exemplify martial vows in their short stories, “The Story of an Hour” and “The Birthmark.” It is clear in one instance, it was because divorce was different but then on the other hand the stories demonstrate the seriousness of the wedding vows. However, these stories express a husband-dominated relationship, in which the men possess ideals such as possession, perfection, and being all knowing.

Sarah began with a quote which made her speech become very relatable and personal, I liked this because it showed that she truly cared about the information she was about to share and really got my attention. She then used this information to introduce her topic and the points she planned to cover. Sarah used her transitions very effectively throughout her speech and never lost her place while speaking. Her conclusion adequately summed up the entirety of her speech and even included another quote about dealing with poverty stricken children in the classroom.
To give a rhetorically convincing speech Lunsford and Ruszkiewicz suggested that “you want your organizational structure to be crystal clear. So offer an overview of your main points toward the beginning of your presentation” and “avoid long, complicated sentences and use straightforward syntax”(349). Both Melissa Fleming and Anand Giridharadas began their speeches with a story. Fleming’s story was about a young, refuge man, named Hany, who realized the importance of education and took his high school diploma when his life was in danger. This opening story engaged the audience and allowed Fleming to introduce her main point in the beginning of her presentation. Fleming also uses straightforward syntax when she is speaking. Those two reasons
What have you learned from the process of developing and giving this speech? How can you build on this experience and improve before your next speech?
In the late 1800’s through early 1900’s women and men were did not “tie the knot” like the women and men do in today’s day. In today’s world, women and men get married because they have many things in common, they are in love with each other, and they choose to get married to one another. In many stories written back then, readers can expect to read about how marriages were arranged and how many people were not having the wedded bliss marriage proclaims today.
A. Alright, I know what your thinking, “Here we go the third speech, time to get out my desk pillow and my drool bucket and take a nice long 5-7 minute nap. Or maybe this time I will count the number of tiles that are on the ceiling.” While I understand that taking a nap may be a great option, and counting the ceiling tiles may be good knowledge to have for what reason I do not know, If you listen today you may learn something interesting, its not guaranteed but I would almost count on it.
What were the strengths and weaknesses of the introduction? How did you gain the audience’s attention?
There were several candles that he had purchased. After eating, He sat on the couch to talk. Steve presented each candle and how it represented her. The last candle, a large white candle showed their friendship and strength in faith. Suddenly he showed the ring and proposed on the couch. She said Yes! “The day we were married I was overjoyed!” (Pouliot Interview 2),Steve had had a friendship with Amanda for a very long time. Overtime the relationship became more than just Friendship. He had considered his marriage as a partnership in ministry. The wedding was held at First Presbyterian Church of Golden. Holy love was sung. Steve knew that they would have a large family. He had hopes and dreams for the future. All the friends and family surrounding him showed his love and care to make other people’s lives better. “ It is a mutual relationship making each other’s lives richer and more joyful with friends.” Over the years, four wonderful children were born and brought into the family. His hope for the world is that we see past borders and bring life and health to others. That we can see past ourselves and help others. The adoption of two of his children only goes to show his care for
In the opening sequence of the film, the viewer is immediately presented with an image of marriage as entirely contractual: "Today he married me to a man I've not yet met." The protagonist, although she has already been established as strong-willed and non-conforming, is accepting but not altogether optimistic about the arrangement. The viewer also learns that she
