Hunting Or Economics: Why Does Hunting Matters?

In America, deer are an animal hunted widely throughout our country. Each winter citizens have mixed emotions about the sport. Some say its barbaric and cruel, while others argue that it’s beneficial and useful. Although people may say hunting is cruel and barbaric, have they ever thought about the upsides to be gained from hunting? While this is a topic that can be argued viciously back and forth, I believe hunters win the argument. Deer hunting keeps the population down, protects farmers’ crops, boosts economic sales, betters a person’s mental health, and teaches lifelong lessons on respect. These are just a few of the amazing benefits that can be gained from hunting.

Hunting is a common activity all around the world, and if performed properly, can have many benefits to us and the rest of the planet. The art of hunting has been around since the beginning of time. Living off of the land used to be a necessity across the world, until the mass production of food came along. In America, people do not usually need to hunt to survive. Hunting has been around for a very long time, as time progresses, it becomes more modern. The main two weapons for hunting are guns and bows. The debate between what is better for hunting has been around forever. There is many advantages and disadvantages for both weapons but the decision on what to use comes down to one thing: what will make the hunter the most successful. There are many different factors to think about when coming down to a conclusion. Making the decision can be hard and involve many details to think about, but in the the end, being comfortable with what you’re using is also an important decision. The best choice to go with is what weapon will be most comfortable and relative as well as ensuring a successful hunt. Hunting with a gun and bow are very different, their effective distance, noise made, and fairness to the animals are all very different.

Food. Clothing. Conservation. Entertainment. All valid reasons to hunt that have evolved greatly over the years. Hunting has served a tremendous role in the progress of man. Without hunting, people would still be living in caves and strictly eating plants. Starting in prehistoric times, hunting has been a crucial activity practiced by Native Americans and other early Americans while steadily transforming into the large hobby that it is today.

Like baseball and apple pie, hunting is an American tradition shared by young and old, rich and poor, regardless of social or economic status. Three out of every ten people are against hunting but for what reasons? What makes them stand out from the seven out of ten that are for hunting? My preference supports hunting for many reasons.
