allowed you to think more openly? This class has allowed me to think more openly because I feel that my classmates and professor allowed me to express my opinion regardless of the opinions of others. This has helped me be more involved in discussions because I felt that I could express myself without others being judgmental and it has helped me become more of an optimistic person. I surprised myself at times because I am usually a quite person and rarely express my opinion but, Professor Hall did a fantastic
year. Mine is to read and write more. I also want to add more description in my writing to help the reader feel like they are a part of the story. I would describe myself as a novice reader looking to become an avid reader. Whenever I do choose to read, I find it to be a great way to escape reality. I feel I am going to another place and time. I become invested in the characters and feel like I am a part of the story. Writing allows me to express my thoughts. I love to create a story line and help
I remember that when I was first learning how to read, I was fascinated with the way reading a book felt like you were watching television in your head. The amount of detail that was spread across the pages allowed me to use my imagination and dive right into the chapters. I was hooked from the moment I read my first book, and ever since then, I have wanted to not only read stories but also one day create my own. As I got older and started to decide what types of authors and books I liked to read
capture the essence of an idea with ease. As of now, I am not that kind of writer. Truthfully, I am lost, scatter-brained, and unaware of how to make my point in most cases. I ramble on for sentences before realizing my writing is one big mess. But, I give myself credit for taking time to write, and accepting feedback and criticism with a “thank you”. I listen to the external and internal voices that drive me. Although I am not a remarkable writer, I am willing to learn and improve. As author Stephen

I can still remember learning cursive in third grade, and although I could not tell you my teacher’s name, I remember her patience in teaching us the uppercase and lowercase letters on an overhead projector. It was exciting and new, and built the foundation for my love of writing, and to this day I write exclusively in cursive. Following the excitement of cursive came my love for journaling. As a writer, I feel like I am in a constant maze. In the beginning I feel like there is more than one path to take. It can either lead me to success and/or great achievements or it can lead me to a dead end. Writing can be easy at times, but other times when I come to a stopping point I always tend to overthink things. I feel like my choices need to be made right away. I tend to think of it as temptations being called from every different direction. One path will lead me to the finish line and the

I have been in the United States for five years and even though I am a hundred percent proficient, it is still challenging for me to jot down my thoughts in English. My journey as an English writer has not been easy and there have been many times were frustration got the best of me. Despite this, with hard work and dedication I have been able to excel in Composition Arguments. This

So far I have learned a lot about writing, and myself as a writer in English 1101. I have learned that I am not a perfect writer and I tend to make many mistakes. One thing I tend to struggle with is coming up with a topic to write about. Usually it takes me a few days to come up with an idea. The Educational History Narrative was definitely the paper I struggled with the most. I spent days trying to find a topic to write about. Another thing I struggle with is being repetitive. I think I struggle
