I am an undergraduate from Huddersfield university, where I have just my finished second year in religion and education studies. I am an energetic and enthusiastic person who loves challenges and achieving personal goals. My career aim is to work in a school setting because I thoroughly enjoy working with children and young people. I enjoy the environment and I find the work enjoying, interesting and satisfying. In my current post which is a teaching assistant at Jamia Abu Hanafi I teach a group of children and keep a record of their improvements. My role requires me to talk to a parent and other staff daily about progress and behavior. I also teach a group of 6 children to help meet the child needs. I also ensure that when an exam is done all result are accurately transferred onto a spreadsheet so that the staff can have up to date records of progress. The ability to learn new skills and to work amongst the people of tomorrow is very attractive and appealing to me. I also ensure that the madrasa is kept cleaned and tidy before and after mosque I have skill and qualities to manage classroom settings as I have done voluntary experiences in a school setting. One of the voluntary placement was St Thomas C of E Primary school in which, I worked with one student more than others My main job at St Thomas C of E was to look after a child who had autism, as the child exhibited a wide range of behaviors. The child was very quiet and would hardly talk, but was fond of a car
I am passionate about working in a primary school to support the education and welfare of pupils and families.
I am a qualified Childcare Practitioner with 12 years’ experience, who would love the opportunity to embark on a career as a Primary Teacher. I am currently employed in a local authority pre-five nursery class within a Primary School. I aspire to become a teacher as I feel it will offer me new challenges and a chance to further develop my love of teaching. I am a dedicated worker and continually strive to provide high standards. I also promote confidence, respect and compassion to ensure all members of the nursery and school are respected.
I believe that education is the key in developing today’s students into tomorrow’s leaders. Education is the basis on which individuals develop their self-concept and the desire to become more knowledgeable. I want to become an educator because I am interested in helping elementary students become active learners and also to assist with their social skills. I believe I can make a difference to many students as they start their educational foundation. I feel that all teachers should possess the desire to devote their hard work and efforts to their students’ educational success. I view teaching as not only one of the most respected careers, but also as one in which the rewards are great and many
INTRODUCTION: As a key part of our teaching and education training we need to develop knowledge and understanding of our roles, responsibilities and relationships within the teacher, student environment. I see this valuable to my progression and career development. The initial task was to produce a job description on my ideal job. Through research and reading, I was able to extend my knowledge and understanding of the importance to the following areas:
I have always known that I wanted to make a difference in society by becoming a teacher, due to my love of children and helping people understand various topics. I have worked with children by babysitting, instructing karate, leading children’s Sunday school, and working at a summer camp. By doing these activities I have established bonds with diverse groups of children, but at the same time, I kept a professional and respectable boundary. I have successfully worked inside a planning department alongside people of all ages and personalities in planning activities and lessons for kids.
I am currently a student at Feather River College and have, so far, been thoroughly enjoying my educational experience here. However, it has come to my attention that the retention rate at our college is only 52 percent which is low compared to other community colleges in the surrounding area. Butte College, for example, has a retention rate of 70 percent with nearly nine times the annual enrollment of Feather River College. I believe that the high percentage of students who do not return to Feather River College after their first year may be due in part to the absence of many popular majors from the school’s curriculum. Psychology, for instance, is a very high demand major that most community colleges offer. In not offering popular majors such as this, Feather River College is forcing many students already enrolled to look elsewhere for their higher education, and also discouraging other prospective student from applying at all. I believe that adding a Psychology major to the curriculum, and possibly more majors in time, will boost the school’s retention rate and enrollment, increasing the school’s income through tuition and also bringing in employment opportunities.
To use my experiences and abilities in working with children and parents. I believe that working with young people and parent is my calling and my nature. I also like to apply my experiences and abilities in leading children to become an excellent students as they can be. Also, helping children to grow and learn in healthy and positive
I am a first year student, majoring in mechanical engineering at Wentworth Institute of Technology. I am writing to you in regards to your “Only Connect” ideas about what makes a liberally educated individual. I somewhat agree with your views on what constitutes a liberal education. The idea of liberal educated people reminds me of what we all try to achieve but basically do not reach it because we think it’s a “state” that we reach after reading the expectations set for us rather than living and applying it. It takes more than being able to be socially adapt with the ten social qualities stated in your writing. One who is educated can be considered liberally educated as long as they have applied their education to their daily life.
I proceeded to walk down the aisle slowly becoming aware of the acrobats doing summersaults in my stomach. With such great prestige I heard the announcer’s voice, “Gerdwine Bourdeau.” Still in displacement of what had just occurred, rivers of joy rushed down my face. In quick pursuit, I shook President Welsh’s hand, turned my cheek and gleamed a smile towards the camera. In an instant flash the proudest moment of my life quickly became a realization. As of August 2016 I would be a graduate student of East Stroudsburg University. All the tears of joy and stressful nights would eventually become memories I tap into over lunch with a group of alumni friends. The ceremony quickly came to an end. Myself as well as hundreds of students rushed in search of their families. I had become overwhelmed in the confusion to only hear a lonely voice over the crowd shout in creole “Gerdwine, Gerdwine!” Moments later I stood in front of my first love, my parents. They gazed with admiration and joy, as I stared into their eyes and seen hard working immigrants from Haiti. Raising seven children wasn’t always easy, they worked day in and day out hiking 12 flights of stairs in a Brooklyn apartment building. All to make sure their children received an education that they were unable to obtain.
I would relish the opportunity to help in schools that provide Special Needs Education as this is specifically relevant to my career plan of becoming an Occupational Therapist. I am interested in

Having gone through university, I had experienced and learned a lot.
