Paragraph composition instructions
As a first year student who is doing education, I am concerned about teachers’ identity and their nature of work. Therefore, I conducted research for my lecturer in response to my research question which is what is the teacher’s work. In order to demonstrate my understanding of how to enter a conversation about ideas in my subject area, I composed a new paragraph which has incorporated one credible paragraph that responds to the research question that I formulated in the Research Analysis assignment. The paragraph below is the seventh paragraph of my research but I made some changes in order to ensure that people from any field are able to understand rather than targeting those education students.
New paragraph
Pedagogy is a very important terminology in education which means the teaching practices and the actions teachers take. Comber (2006) believed that teachers who are able to do the interpretive work need pedagogical knowledge as base. In other words, pedagogical knowledge is very critical to teachers as it can allow teachers to plan their curriculum professionally and interpret their knowledge to student in the way that they can better understand. Interpretive work is one of the five types of teachers work defined by Comber (2006) which would influence students effectively. According to Comber (2006), teachers who employed interpretive approach would perceive every child attentively and recognize their grades and participation.

Traditional models of educational research have tended to view teachers and students as passive subjects in the educational process. The process-product model "portrays teaching as a primarily linear activity and depicts teachers as technicians... [In the model,] the teacher's role is to implement the research findings of 'outside' experts, almost exclusively university researchers, who are considered alien to the everyday happenings in classrooms" (Dana, n.d., 2). Today, teachers are increasingly called upon to make a personal investment in educational research and can have an active role in shaping its course. "In general, the teacher inquiry movement focuses on the concerns of teachers (not outside researchers) and engages teachers in the design, data collection, and interpretation of data around their question" (Dana, n.d., 4). The teacher inquiry model is also an improvement on anecdotal, qualitative designs, where little empirical data was elicited from teachers. Results of research based in the teacher inquiry model can be generalized to other contexts because they are data-driven, but they also offer personal interpretation from teachers in the field. Pedagogy is a word that is used to describe the art and science of teaching. Pedagogical roles are the many and varied that a teacher may perform while teaching, such as structuring, soliciting, responding and reacting. Other roles involve assessing, criticising, discussing, encouraging, enquiring, evaluating, explain, giving individual instruction, lecturing, organising, presenting, questioning and answering, repeating and reviewing and team teaching and tutoring etc.
Facilitating a foundation in academic or philosophical pedagogy can help form a path for the educator, a path to better understanding teaching, education, learning and learners. Often, most of the programs designed for learners and the curriculum is often derived from theories. Understanding theories can help guide a teacher through their education journey. Sometimes, teachers may struggle with classroom organisation or implementing the curriculum in a considerate, all-encompassing and engaging way, especially if you are a CRT or Graduate Teacher - and often these concepts can help inspire and encourage teachers. To be an empowered teacher means your classroom and students will be empowered learners, and that is the best type of learning. There are many theories that have contributed to education as a body and has many of these theories help educational departments plan curriculums to benefit not only teachers but also all students. In Admiraal et al. (2016)’s article, four teachers participated in the study and they reported that through conducting their research, they were able to take diverse perspectives on teaching, think of alternative solutions to address the issues, thoroughly reflect on their teaching and their colleagues’ teaching (Admiraal et al., 2016). By researching and reading the literature that is relevant to their topics, these teachers mentioned that they use the findings of the educational research to inform and shape their practices by analysing and translating the research findings to pedagogical practice, and assess the effectiveness of new ways of teaching (Admiraal et al., 2016). My capstone is about education and training. My assignment in front of you is what I want to become. I love working with young children. Elementary school teachers are constantly looking for a way to do things better. How can I engage my students in my instruction? How can I make their learning purposeful to their lives? How can I be more efficient in my planning and effective in my teaching? The Daily 5, a reading instruction program created by Gail Boushey and Joan Moser, claims to be the answers to these questions. Boushey and Moser (2012) created the program after teaching and observing others’ literacy blocks. The program is said to “engage students, [and] also teach and promote self-independence on tasks” so that the classroom teacher can attend to individual students’ needs (LaShomb, 2011, p. 1). Boushey and Moser (2006) claim that not only does the program allow students to become self-sufficient learners, but it also engages them in meaningful literature daily.

There is a usual but important cliché for a teacher´s career: a teacher has to be a life-long learner to be an effective teacher. Research on effective teaching over the past two decades has proved that effective practice is related to questioning, reflection and continuous professional development. I believe teachers play multiple roles that extend beyond the classroom. They take classes continuously, attend professional development sessions, and research new approaches to learning on their own time. These are done with the purpose of expanding their knowledge in teaching and to ensure that the school day runs smoothly for the entire class. For example, Mrs. Shuffield spend her breaks researching videos to enhance her writing and science lessons. This week, she presented a rap video on photosynthesis to help students memorize facts about it. The children really enjoyed it and I could hear them singing it as they left the classroom.
Why am I a teacher? When I was a child I always had to pretend play school with my friends and I always had to be the teacher. My mom was a preschool teacher at the local day care center and I grew up seeing her cut bulletin boards and plan lessons. My best friend in middle school 's mom was also a teacher. I never wanted to be anything else and didn 't really have a back up plan if this teaching thing didn 't work out. In this paper I will take you on a journey through my educational years in elementary school and middle school, my time high school, delve into my time in college and then into my career as a teacher.
