Do you ever have those moments where you lay in bed late at night and all these deep thoughts come into your mind? One of those late nights thought could be what is my purpose in life? Why am I here? Sometimes we struggle to find the answer to those questions, sometimes we know the answer but as we keep pondering on the answer we start to doubt ourselves. So what is our purpose in life? Some would say my purpose in life is to be happy or to help others. There is an endless possibility of answers. But for me I would not be able to give them one simple answer because there isn’t just one purpose, there is multiple purposes. We are not put on Earth for just one purpose just like how we don’t play one role in life. That is why I believe that, …show more content…
Usually the first thing we think of when we hear hammer is something that is used to bang a nail but that hammer acquires a different purpose depending on its role. Just like us if we look at each of our roles we get a different purpose. For example, I am not just a daughter; I am an older sister, a friend, a girlfriend, a student, down the line a mother and many more. As a daughter, my purpose may be to make my parents proud, to someday give back as much as I can for the things they have done for me. As an older sister my purpose is to set an example for my younger brother and lead a path that will be easier for him. As a student, my purpose is to do well in my classes to earn my diploma so I can have a good career. And when I take on a role as a mother my purpose is to provide the best for my child. Our sense of purpose is from each of our roles that we take on. That sense of purpose is shape by influences around us and our own mentality.
Not everyone has the same purpose and that is due to the fact that we all have different background, different people around us, different desires and different mentality. In a Korean drama called, Seonam Girls High school Investigators, one of the girls is adopted by a fairly poor family. She knows her family won’t be able to put her through school on their own, so she takes on all these volunteer work, join every club, volunteer to be class president and study to be the best in all her classes. Her classmate hated her because of
The Bible tells us that man was newborns, children, and adults are all here by the grace of God. Yes, as humans we add meaning and purpose to our life. However, our main purpose from day one is to worship him. (126)
While enrolled in Existence and Reality, a course offered at Allan Hancock College, I was tasked to reflect on my beliefs concerning the seven most prevailing philosophical questions; what is life, what is death, is there a God, is there life after death, why is there so much evil and suffering in the world, and what is the good life? Due to my religious beliefs, I am certain that there is a God, but when talking about the concept of life, I found myself questioning what my purpose was. I have always had a calling to help
Every person on this earth has a great purpose they are going to fulfill throughout their life. I believe my purpose here is to serve God for what he is calling me for. It took a while to know that he was calling to me to become a nurse, and every day that goes by
it. We have a purpose for our lives. By God creating man and woman in the Garden of Eden
In Christianity, the purpose of this life is to better your relationship with God and to know Him better. This is also proven in Job 22:21 that if you align yourself with God and are in harmony with that relationship that you will receive good things in this world.
All my life I’ve been trying to find my purpose. I always knew that my purpose in life was to help people, but I didn’t know how I really wanted to accomplish this. Upon graduating high school I was confused
God has a unique purpose for each and every one of us. Sometimes life gets so busy that we forget what our purpose is in life, but God has a way of guiding
What is the purpose of life? How are we supposed to discover who we are supposed to be in life? These are age old questions, and they are issues that every human being asks themselves at some point in their life. And the answer they find will never be simple, because that is just the way life is. Confusing and messy and wonderful and so many other things that we come to discover as we grow up.
Various individuals have different reasons as to why they exist and what they are supposed to fulfil. The Christian worldview of the meaning and purpose of life is to build and maintain a steady relationship with God. Christians believe in getting salvation as it is the key factor that links them with God. Every person has a different purpose in this world, but the common one is exemplifying and worshiping the Lord (Weider and Gutierrez, 2011).
There are two main viewpoints that answer this question; Nihilism and Existentialism. Nihilism is the idea that life itself is intrinsically, fundamentally and inherently meaningless. Existentialism, on the other hand, is the belief that every human is born without a given meaning, and it's up to us to figure out what gives our life that meaning. Furthermore, the idea that God gave you a predetermined purpose is not a very popular one, among neither theists nor philosophers, so I'll only be discussing these two viewpoints.
It is the experience of being that brings reality to life and allows life to be.
Nothing exists in life for the sake existing. A hammer’s purpose is to drive nails. While a hammer may be used to perform other tasks, such as cracking nuts, the efficacy of using the hammer for this purpose is questionable. For example, the meat inside the nut may be smashed, rendering it useless. If the hammer could think, it might experience feelings of inferior, even incomplete, because of the inadequate job it was doing as a nutcracker. Similarly, a human being can only feel complete when his body is used for its intended purpose—in this satisfaction of purpose, a human being achieves completeness. This is equally true for everything else in
Why are we here? What is our purpose? If man is looking for a purpose, then is he saying
I believe we exist for one purpose. That purpose is to worship and reflect our Heavenly Father. He has given His instructions to us in the Bible. The Bible tells of how we are to administer the church, how we are to worship in the church and who is to have roles in the church.
