Many are rich many are poor many have money many don’t. Have you ever had a moment where you did something selfish for desperation of money and karma hit you right back with a right hook?. And felt regret towards yourself. In the short story “Why, You Reckon” the
“ Hi Howya Doin?” The story starts of with a police report “Good-looking husky guy six-foot-four in late twenties or early thirties, Caucasian male.” (Oates) This police report will repeats again in the story after the man jogging saying “Hi! Howya doin!” to couple of the joggers he passes by. This police report is the foreshowing technique that occurs at the beginning of the story and in the middle of the story. The style of the story mimics the action of the story because the police report description is similar to the description the reader gets of the different jogger that the well build man passes by. While reading the story I believe that the story changed when the author describe a new path was a lonely path. Lonely paths are normally
Hi, Teresa: Descendants from Africa, who were born into slavery lost their culture. Slaves were not permitted to practice or speak their native language or practice their native culture. Everything was taken away from them including their name. Africa American were considered the property of their slave owner and they can do what every they please with their assets. In the Harlem Renaissance era, Africa American were free to express and show their many talents without discrimination. For the first time, they were able to show pride within their community. As you stated in your post, on African American started to develop a new culture of their own that represent who they were now and not what centuries of depression
Hi Rhonda, It appears that we have more than a few things in common as you previously mentioned. Like you, I have come to understand how important it is to be knowledgeable about our nation's history. Understanding the path that has brought us to where we (as a nation) are today and acknowledging those who have influenced that path, is embracing our imperfect present, and pursuing for a better future.
As a young child I always prided myself in my writing. I attended the Young Authors Conference every year during elementary school. The Young Authors Conference allowed us to write and share books that
Hello Fatima, I really enjoyed reading your post and the way it was presented. I love how detailed and eloquent your answers are. I definitely agree with your perspective that technology is the main reason that this generation is very spoiled. Louis C.K. had a point when he stated that this generation is spoiled. Technology has made this generation less patient as well more dependable. This generation has become so lazy to do anything on their own. I really agree that technology has ruined our lives because people back in the old days didn't have the technology we have today, but when something needs to be done, then they get the job done mostly with muscle. Kids used to play outdoors and were physically active, but now they are just stuck
Hi Laurie, I do agree that one should use all four principles in life because it provides an equal balance, however I do not agree that utility is the most important principle. The world is not always black and white, I believe that there are gray areas in life. Every situation is different, just because a person does a bad thing does not mean that they should be punished and condemned to hell or prison. I do not feel that your argument is rationally persuasive because a lot of other factors matter when someone has done something wrong. If a person committed a murder due to a untreated mental illness because his family couldn't afford healthcare, or let's even say his mom just wouldn't seek treatment for him. Now at 20 he's committed this hainous crime because of his illness. Do we just throw him in prison or do we seek the medical treatment he should of had a long time ago? Do we treat him the same as a person who knows right from wrong when we obviously know that he can't possibly know that what he has done is wrong?
Autobiography Assignment I am Slayde Kerner and I am a 15-year-old attending the Viera High School. I was originally born in New York, but we moved down to Melbourne, Florida when I was young and have lived here ever since. At 12 years old I started a club in my old middle school, The Viera Charter. This club was the MinecraftEdu club. For two years I had been running this club making almost 14,000$ a year (pure volunteer work), for the school. Now at 15 I have expanded my club into its own company; CraftingEducation Academy. CraftingEducation is built off of something I developed called the Leadership Academy. In all the courses we offer, we do not have any adults that teach any of the classes, everything is run and designed by kids, including
Hi Sheehan, being a student it is always hard to do as we think for all our classes. My major is computer science as well and I remember when I took programming class it was too much for me. We often get frustrated and stressed out about our homework, test and exam, but eventually we have to do them and we do it too. I kind of feel its happen due to not having enough time because almost all the college students work at the same time. It happens to me all the time, I don’t want to procrastinate things but I end up doing the same thing over and over. I like the way you believe in yourself as an optimistic person which is equally important to deal with stressful situation. I also agree and believe that having growth mindset is not only learning
Do some of y'all be responsible for y'all stuff well i am not responsible because i loose all my stuff. Well in the movie smalls wasn’t because he took his stepfather ball without permission. The other thing is that some people need to be responsible for the things that the
The words “You have cancer” (Edson 7) suddenly changed the life of Dr. Vivian Bearing, the main character in the play Wit. It isn't a play of survival. Rather, the play deconstructs the run of the mill story of remaining strong through treatment of cancer, defeating the chances, and surviving. The play skillfully builds an account of repair and rebuilding of the individual not through treatment of the body assaulted by cancer, but by conceding one's shortcomings, uncovering oneself, and, maybe most terrifying of all, surrendering control and, simultaneously, getting to be plainly defenseless.
Hi Sheletha, I can relate to your percpective on the matter as we'll, our human nature can at times cause discouremant regarding how others view us and our beliefs however learning the skills and techniques to overcome those challenges has made a hugh impact and transformation in my life. 100 Words - If You Really Knew Me If you really knew me, you would know that I just turned 16 and that I’m an only child that was originally born in California. I currently live with my father (Rob) and step-mother (Stacie), I used to live with my mom (Gracie) but when I was little I didn’t really like to do any form of work, I didn’t like to go to school ( I lived about 2 blocks away), and I used to be an obnoxious chubby child who wasn’t really respectful. I like to hang with family and friends, ride dirt bikes, and play exciting video games.
Good Afternoon, I am Acacia Munoz, East Texan reporter, and I am currently working on a story about the Cherokee and other endangered languages. I was wondering if you know the Cherokee or any of the other endangered languages? If you are not do you know anyone on campus who might be able to assist me with this story. I look forward to your response.
I started writing rhymes and poetry in the fifth or sixth grade. I have continued writing adding over the years adding stories for children. After school, business interests took most of my time, while writing, painting, and photography remained a hobby. This is my first attempt to publish
