I chose this character because I found her interesting. It was almost intriguing to watch her different emotions, actions, and reactions. The quarrels she had with Anne and how she dealt with them were amusing to listen to. She was always calm and gentle, rather than inconsiderate. Who did I chose? I believe you already know, but if you don’t I am talking about Edith Frank.
Edith Holländer was born Aachen, Germany, on January 16, 1900. She attended a Christian girls’ high school, called Viktoriaschule. On May 12, 1925, Edith married Otto Frank, and moved to Frankfurt, Germany with him. They had two children, both girls, with the names of Margot and Anne. By 1934, the whole Frank family had moved to Opekta, for Otto’s business. The Frank family moved into the Secret Annexe on July 6, 1942. Mrs. Frank usually hid her feeling about others. She preferred to be polite, than rude. Her and Anne often got in small quarrels into the first year of hiding, but then died down during the second year. Edith hated that she and Anne quarreled. She often told Otto that Anne went against everything she said. Mrs. Frank was selfless, a loving mother, and a caring person. In the play of the Diary of Anne Frank, Mrs. Frank is never really an antagonist. The only time, I would say, she was an antagonist is during Scene Three Act Two (855- 863). She is a young mother of two, a selfless woman, and a fighter. Mrs. Frank is an optimist, and protagonist. As a whole Mrs. Frank is a protagonist.
Anne Frank was born on June 12, 1929, in Frankfurt, Germany, she was the daughter of Otto and Edith Frank. Anne and her sister Margot grew up in Germany, but before World War II Anne Frank and her family went into hiding in Amsterdam for two years. During World War II Adolph Hitler killed nearly six million Jews.
How do you picture someone that is good at heart? Maybe you see them as a hero that saved someone’s life, but a person can do the slightest deed and still be considered good at heart. In “The Diary of Anne Frank,” there were many characters that contributed to the theme that people are good at heart. The characters not only developed the theme through their words, but they also developed the theme through their actions. “The Diary of Anne Frank,” was a diary that was written by Anne Frank during the time of World War II and the Holocaust. The diary gave us real life information from the time of that devastating event. This play showed us that many people are good at heart, but the theme was mostly developed through the characters Anne Frank, Miep Gies, and Mr. Frank.
In the Diary of Anne Frank, the two characters I chose to compare and contrast are Mrs. Frank and Mrs. Van Daan. These two ladies are similar and different in many ways. They are both middle aged women that live in Amsterdam. When the Holocaust began in 1939, Mrs. Frank and Mrs. Van Daan moved into the secret Annex with their families.
Mr. Frank, a survivor as well as an amazing individual, brought an astounding amount of faith, belief, and hope. In the play, The Diary of Anne Frank, Mr. Frank was always
Anne Frank was born to Otto and Edith Frank in the late 1920’s, alongside her older sister, Margot Frank, who was born three years before Anne. This small family of four were just ordinary working class people trying to make a living like everyone else. Both Anne and Margot lover school and their friends. They both also really enjoyed writing, which included diary entries every day. Both girls, particularly Anne, wrote down every event and feeling she experienced. Which lead to the famous diary we now know to be of Anne Frank’s life during the Holocaust. Anne Frank’s spectacular ability to remain joyous and courageous through her outstanding struggle are displayed through the three main point of her life before the Holocaust, living in
Anneliese Marie Frank was born in Frankfurt, Germany, June 12, 1929 (History.com). Anne Frank lived a quiet normal life attending school and having fun with all the other kids. The Franks were driven into hiding on July 14th, 1942 when Anne Frank’s sister Margot got a call to report to a work camp (Thoughtco.com). The family quickly packed and went into hiding. Otto Frank, Anne Franks father, owned a warehouse into which the family quickly departed. In just a day they had moved into a hidden room in the warehouse called the secret annex hidden by a movable bookshelf (See Figure 1).
Anne Frank faced adversity from her own family and the people who she had contact every day in the Secret Annexe. She was misunderstood and rejected from giving her opinions in the adults’ conversations just because she was just a teenager. She was probably more mature and thoughtful than Mrs. Van Daan. Her actions were always compared to her sister’s, which was unfair because she was expected to meet the near-impossible expectations
Anne Frank was a German Jew. She was born in Germany. At the age of two or three the family moved to Holland. In Holland as hitler was gaining power laws were made. Those laws took away rights of Jewish and other people on the "undesirables" list. Those people were not seen as people anymore. When people were being called upon. The Frank's went into hiding earlier then planned. The people that worked with Otto Frank helped the two familties go into hiding. At first there was just seven people in hiding. Then another man came to hide with them the families were in hiding for almost three years. Otto Frank thought of everything and what would happen in other situaltions. From how they got food anf the way the company was run. Otto was in World War I and a very good soldier at that.
According to the play, "The Diary of Anne Frank" it
When the government of Holland was overthrown by Germany, Jews had to register for concentration camps. Instead of doing that, a former German officer named Otto Frank took his family into hiding in a strategic warehouse with another family. This family was the Van Pels. A single man named Fritz Pfeffer joined them in hiding later. Anne Frank, the daughter of Otto Frank, wrote a diary giving details about life in the "Secret Annex" as she called it. Not only does she write as a refugee, she writes as a young woman.
Anneliese Marie Frank was born on June 12, 1929, in Frankfurt, Germany. Her family was an average middle-class German-Jewish family living near the outskirts of Frankfurt. Life was happy there, but when Hitler became the chancellor of Germany on January 20, 1933, the Franks decided they should leave Germany because it no longer felt safe (Anne Frank Biography). Anne was just four years old when her family emigrated to Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1933. The next year, Anne began attending a Montessori kindergarten in 1934 (The Story of Anne Frank). Anne and her sister made many friends in school and her father had established a successful company that produced a gelling agent used in jam. It was not long before
Anne Frank is the child of Edith Hollander Frank and Otto Frank. When Frank was about four, Adolf Hitler became chancellor of Germany and he and his Nazi government began to go unbelievable measures to prosecute the German Jewish citizens. Frank’s father moved to Amsterdam to establish a small company (Biograph Staff). The company was successful in producing substances to make jam. Frank and her sister stayed behind in Germany with their grandmother, but later moved to Amsterdam with her family
Anne Frank makes me feel useless because she was going through a horrible situation that lead her to her death and I'm over here in “the land of the free” still feeling like I need more and want more. Her writing made me feel like if I was in that attic looking out the window to something I would never be able to go back to, which is my life. She was a new writer who was so confident and aggressive around others but she thought she was weak and uncertain of who she really is and how she felt. The relationship between her and Peter was complicated which I loved because she hated him at first then, started developing feelings for him except her sister also liked him so it was like a love triangle. Another thing is that in the Anne admits to being spoiled and selfish but she admits that being in the annex has changed her and I truly believe she has.
Mrs. Frank Has short hair and she love to wear her hat. She don’t anybody messing with her diary she was crazy about her diary. I would think her extraordinary in her vitality, optimism, hunger for knowledge, and creativity. Anne changed in many ways over the two years she was writing and Anne probably have something really in common Anne Frank was her diary. Some of these changes can be described as “growth.” She became an astute observer of politics, and of human nature, and she became a very practiced and well-educated writer. Many of her diary entries suggest a mind mature past her years, and we forget we are reading the work of a teenager. When Anne starts talking about her love life, things can get a little confusing, especially when it comes to the multiple Peters. Anne has just turned thirteen when we meet her. She has boys on the brain. She tells us, “You’re probably a little surprised to hear me talking about admirers at such a young age” (6/20/1942). Before she goes into hiding, she has a time-consuming
Anne Frank and her family were in hiding for two years in an attic. Anne was suppose to go work at a camp in Germany, but they made an escape and said they flew out somewhere else but actually they went to hide in an attic behind a store it was a secret door hidden behind a shelf. While living in the attic Anne Frank wrote everything in a diary. “On August 4, 1944, the Gestapo (German Secret State Police) discovered the hiding place after being tipped off by an anonymous Dutch caller” (Holocaust 1 ).They were discovered and were taken to the camps. Bergen-Belsen concentration camp was the camp, she and her sister were taken to. Anne Frank was deported to Auschwitz on September 5, 1944.eight weeks later, in late October 1944, Anne and Margot
