“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippines 4:13). Sunday mornings are God’s day. Staring off the day at “coffee with Jesus”, in Starbucks, my fellow friends and I surround each other, focusing on the scriptural reading that morning which ties into our sermon delivered at church. God has given me the wonder gift of music and I sing for my church to honor and praise him. I end my day at “youth night” which brings my peers together with Christ and unity. How can this not the best way to live? Why would I want to be like my neighbor who doesn’t wake up till one o’clock pm and eats a cold leftover, who sits on the couch all day glued to a digital, bright screen? The Bible is a powerful tool for Christians and it helps them have a closer connection with God and their faith. “Reading the Bible is a way Christians receive communication from God. Like checking your e-mail or voice mail for messages, the Bible is where God allowed some of His thoughts to be written down for us to learn from Him” (Skinner). The Bible brings other Christians together, and it is the foundation for believers and ties right back to their traditions and values. The Bible tells believers how they should live and follow in the footsteps of Jesus. The Bible also helps answer difficult challenges in individuals’ lives. ‘“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and, training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work,”’ says 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (Skinner). This is a verse from the Bible and it tells us that every word is true and represented from God. The Bible is helpful for individuals; based on their lives. This is the Christian’s encyclopedia. Nonbelievers reason with scientific facts and explanations. People who do not believe in God mostly focus on the natural explanations of the world.
