On March 2, 2016, I had a phone interview with Ms. Julie Kincaid, the Director of Campus Life (Northern Campuses). I started at Florida Atlantic University in the fall of 2015, where I happened to meet her. I have always loved the way Ms. Kincaid present herself and she is very motivating to her fellow students. Ms. Kincaid also told me that the reason why she chose higher education, is because she loves to motivate, encourage, and help students to achieve their goals. During the interview, Ms. Kincaid explained to me that, a leader is one who inspires and help others in order to build themselves. She also mentioned that, leadership is a very broad concept that is about helping others achieve their goals and dreams and leading by example. As a leader, one has to set clear expectations and one of the most important characteristics is integrity and strength of character. I also explained to Ms. Kincaid that in class, we discussed that leadership and integrity and both go hand in hand. Integrity is one of the main attributes of a great leader. It is a concept of consistency of actions, values, methods, measures, principles, expectations and outcomes. It implies a deep commitment to do the right thing for the right reason, regardless of the circumstances.
Additionally, Ms. Kincaid explained that her personal philosophy of leadership is when you are leading a team, you need trust your constituents. That is to say, as a leader one needs to portray the qualities of a
