I am passionate about working in a child care setting with young children. I love to see a child’s face light up when they learn or try something new. Similar to this quote, “If you can read this, thank a teacher.” written by an anonymous. This statement made me giggled and lit up my face when I saw it on the back of a car. This made me think back to my teachers who had made a big impact in my life and taught me valuable lessons. The situation that brought me from my first internship to the second one was frustrating and difficult. Nonetheless, it provided me with beneficial learning experiences for my career and life in general. One of the silver linings of interning at these two considerably different internship experiences was increasing my knowledge of two different types of business. The first of these areas was in the Non-Profit organization at PACS, where their mission is to empower individuals who are struggling. The nonprofit industry has always deeply interested me, and what I learned at PACS only fueled that interest. The time I spent at PACS was brief and ended abruptly. Nonetheless, I learned valuable and significant information and gained an understanding of the various business characteristics that are essential in nonprofit organizations.

My last position as a Reimbursement Assistant afforded the opportunity to thoroughly develop my customer service skills. The primary duty was to contact insurance companies for claim inquiries. I knew to remain calm and courteous when I spoke to customer service representatives from insurance companies because it often resulted in receiving more than enough information for claim inquiries. Sometimes, customer service representatives would tell me that they spoke to my supervisor and made sure to tell her how kind and professional I was on any given call.
"I worked hard to build up my customer base, and after awhile I was having customers request me on a regular basis. I believe in customer service, I think that you should give the customer more than they expect.
