In the last paragraph of the book, O’Brien describes Timmy associate degreed Linda sport spoken communication that he's ‘ young and happy’ (236) herein exploiting diction to reveal an optimistic tone. a very important component of this optimism is that he alternates from once he is to ‘30 years later’ in ‘1990’. this is often important as a result of it shows the restorative role of dreams for O’Brien throughout totally different periods in his life.
