My project is to raise money for those homeless people, because I did some research showed that they are struggling with their life. I set up this project because It would help those homeless people a lot if the shelter get more money. If the shelter have more money it means that they can take care more people and those people can have a better life in the shelter. Raise money is the most efficient thing to donate. Since they can buy anything they needed with money. If there are some surplus on things donated like clothes, it will be hard to deal with. So that’s the reason I came up to raise money for the homeless shelter. There are some hard times doing the project, science I never did that before. I have to find out how to raise money first.
Every night across America, roughly 32,000 people between the ages of 18 and 24 are homeless (Youth Homelessness). In the same night, hundreds of thousands of girls say goodnight to their fellow sorority sisters before crawling into their beds. As a Panhellenic community, University of Nebraska gives girls the opportunities to create friendships, form connections, and build strong women. We are called to be active members of society, and use our fortunate lives to change the world we live in. After visiting Community First! Village of Austin, Texas, it has become aware to me the severity of homelessness in America and how simple it can be to change it. Community First! not only builds tiny homes through donations for homeless people around Austin, but gives them a community to become a part of. Donating money to build a tiny house at Community First! Village would not only strengthen UNL’s Panhellenic Council’s generous reputation, but also support the movement to end homelessness through providing a home and community to a young outcasted individual.
According to Volunteers of America, over 670,000 Americans are homeless, 48 million people go hungry every night, and 46.2 million Americans live in poverty. In 2013, Volunteers of America helped hover 83,000 homeless individuals. This organization works to prevent and end homelessness through a range of support services including eviction prevention, emergency services, transitional housing and permanent affordable housing. By doing so they engage homeless individuals, including youth and families with children, and stay with them for as long as it takes to return them to self-sufficiency. This organization reach out to homeless individuals through street outreach and mobile outreach services and engage with homeless individuals, youth and families with children. Moreover, they provide assistance that ranges from paying a first month’s rent to offering permanent supportive housing so that people with disabilities can become stable and productive members of their communities.
Recently, I have been going to Atlanta than I used to. I’ve noticed the amount of homelessness they have there and wanted to do something to positive help them. I learned that volunteering in settings like this helps them to be able, which is their only meal that day, to eat. Homelessness is real and is an issue. This addresses it because it creates awareness.
The U.S. government, middle, and upper-class citizens in the United States should come together and fund communities in large cities like Chicago in the next couple years to lower the amount of homeless people living on the city streets. In these communities they can build schools for those with children so they can learn while their parents work and build income. As well as providing two to three community hot meals for the families to eat. They can even build facilities where the homeless who struggle with addictions live and receive treatment such as counseling and inspirational speakers visit to share their testimonies.
In 2013, I had the opportunity to assist local public school administrators on the issue of illiteracy and the allocation of resources in inner-city schools. Additionally, I collaborated on a small team to implement plans to provide public housing for the homeless in Orange County, CA. During this time, I also had the opportunity to be a nanny for five kids who were formerly homeless. I was able to be a part of their transition from street life to home life and witness the effects of poverty
You say that “The main issues that are to be addressed when dealing with the homeless youth are their concerns as a whole meaning what they believe should be addressed”. What are these issues? I think it may be helpful to define homeless youth with an age range and then include data telling the percentage of people within that age range who are homeless. Also are you targeting homeless youth or homeless children, or both? The reader wants to know why the project is relevant. In order to determine relevance the problem clearly defined and data needs to be used to support the
This project helps with the environment by disposing of garbage properly. I will take time during my lunch to do a good deed to the planet for a week. I will also be expected to learn more how trash affects the ecosystem. It just so happens, without each of us doing our part damages to the
In order to combat homelessness and restore the people of the united states to their fullest capabilities, the government has to take the initiative to provide more funding for the homeless. This includes providing shelters for the homeless, while also building jobs for the unemployed ,and raising awareness to all that homelessness is a problem that needs to be addressed.
The word homeless typically does not bring to mind images of children and you but in reality, more than 100,000 and more children an experiencing homelessness have been identified by U.S. public schools every year since the 2015-16 school year. There so many homeless people living in the street in this world but for so many homeless student and school is the only stable place in their life. Despite being homeless, students spend as much time in class and on school topics as other non-homeless students. Many students need some kind of special care and attention to at least achieve the success in learning. Knowing every basic rules of working with such student, even the teacher can improve their chance to learn from the student. Being homeless and have to attended school could be hard because some kids would have something and the homeless won’t have something. Seeing some student homeless on the street it give other people bad feelings. Imagine student feeling lost and not even knowing what to do or where to sleep. There’s many problems that cause homelessness and most of that is cause by housing is unaffordable to the poor people and the other causes are include physical illness, mental illness
My project was to help the community through a hospital by supplying them with raised garden beds
First, in today’s life we have a great number of homeless people living on the streets. One thing the government can do to help stop the homeless is to open up shops around the world to give homeless a job to make money. If the
Homelessness is a growing problem in today’s society. Because of the economic crises, many people are losing his or her jobs because company’s had to cut back on expenses, as well as companies that have closed down completely. Furthermore because of the economic crises many mental institutions are forced to close the doors because of lack of funds. People who once had a safe healthy place to call home are being forced into homelessness and are lacking the health care needed to ensure a happy healthy life. Something has to be done to assist homeless people in finding housing and healthcare they so desperately need. Although it is not possible to solve the homeless
We can organize fund raising events which will be entertaining and will cause more awareness for this project. People can also bring donations in person to the events or we could ask for donations with every transaction at your Dallas wide stores. Receiving donations will greatly benefit the many homeless individuals that need our help. Not only will J.C. Penny be praised for sponsoring an event that will help homeless people including mothers, children, and veterans, they will be starting the first movement in Dallas transferring the homeless population to houses on a large scale. The more people donate for this purpose, the quicker and easier it will be to build houses for the homeless and a place where they will have access to the basic supplies required to
Our 7th grade Pre-Ap ELA class has been reading “Wonder” by R.J. Palacio. The book is about a young boy named August who struggles with bullying in his first year at school because of his facial deformity. To apply this to our community, all of us have researched the needs of different marginalized parts of our community. We decided to help the homeless and hungry. Our main goal is to collect the essential items of the everyday life for them.
It has always been close to my heart to help others who are in need; therefore, I chose to volunteer my time toward helping to make Project Backpack a success. Some time ago I chose to join the Project Backpack team in order to help under privileged school kids. Project Backpack is a project where members go out and buy items that children need in order to make it through school. Some items that were purchased to fill backpacks were school supplies, such as notebooks, pencils and pens, crayons, and other school essentials. We also would get personal items for the children, such as toothpaste and toothbrushes, shampoo, body wash, and deodorant. Then we might even get a few toys, such as cards, football, or another small toy. We chose to do that because we realized that we were giving these backpacks to children who are under privileged and they may not have many toys, and it is just a way to make the backpack more comforting to the children.
