Artificial Intelligence, also known as AI, allows a machine to function as if the machine has the capability to think like a human. While we are not expecting any hovering cars anytime soon, artificial intelligence is projected to have a major impact on the labor force and will likely replace about half the workforce in the United States in the decades to come. The research in artificial intelligence is advancing rapidly at an unstoppable rate. So while many people feel threatened by the possibility of a robot taking over their job, computer scientists actually propose that robots would benefit a country’s efficiency of production, allowing individuals to reap the benefits of the robots. In 2013, Carl Frey and Michael Osborne two scholars from University of Oxford developed scholarly analysis that involved a mathematical formula to identify and rank which of the 702 detailed occupations were most susceptible to computerization. The information was based from analysis estimates on expected US labor market outcomes, wages, and educational attainment. Frey and Osborne found that automation in the future will mainly substitute for low-skill and low-wage jobs. Carl Frey and Michael Osborne write: "Our model predicts that most workers in transportation and logistics occupations, together with the bulk of office and administrative support workers, and labor in production occupations, are at risk. These findings are consistent with recent technological developments documented in the literature... In the scary result, 47 percent of the 702 occupations tracked by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics were found at high risk.” In reply to the research findings, Gabrielle Monaghan journalist for the Sun Times newspaper wrote a brief excerpt saying: “The arch-enemy in the workplace of 2021 will not be the backstabbing colleague who claims credit for your work: your rival will be capable of working longer hours for less money, will require neither health benefits nor pension, will never take sick days and will not waste company time on Twitter.” To adapt to the future, one will need to analyze the trends and
