Both the nonfiction and the fiction resource have a significant conflict. The author made the shark attack so painful and down to the last detail about how the attack affected the main character in the “I Survived” book, but in the article the author wrote it where the reader knew that it was bad but how it happened such as the cause of it. One conflict for the fiction resource is to have that feeling someone or something is watching you or is around you. “A feeling of terror came over ten-year-old Chet Roscow, a chill deep down in his bones. He had been swimming in the matawan creek by himself. But he had the idea that someone-or something was watching him.” The other conflict for the fiction resource is in combat with a shark. “And then he
In I Survived: “The Shark Attacks of 1916” by Lauren Tarshis, the story of the shark attacks in New Jersey in 1916 is talked about. It is about a boy named Chet who lives with his Uncle and goes to a creek with some of his friends. He and his friends pulled pranks on each other all the time. He told his friends there was a shark in the water and no one believed him. That’s when he got injured. There was also 4 shark attacks reported around the same time also.
First and foremost, the fiction and nonfiction aspect comes into play when talking about these two specific books.
As I fly back home from Alaska, I think of all my all my adventures I’ve had so far. I feel amazing that I finally finish and will be returning to my dogs, my home, and most importantly, my sweet wife. I missed her so much over the past two weeks, I can't wait to see her again.

My first reading goal was to read three books outside of the realistic fiction genre. I achieved this goal because I read The Forgotten Girls by Sara Blaedel, Cover of Snow by Jenny Milchman, and So B. It by Sarah Weeks. Each one of these books belong in the mystery genre. The reason I had chosen this goal is to help me read outside of my comfort zone and I succeeded, I now feel more comfortable reading other genres.
I have a background in journalism, specifically, political journalism. So, I’m used to nonfiction. However, once the word creative slides in, I get confused and overwhelmed in a sea of emotions and feelings. I stayed on the side of politics and policy due to the lack of emotion involved – and if my critique from peers serves as any indication, I lack a certain touch of sensitivity. I don’t like writing about myself, and I really don’t like writing fluffy pieces filled with maudlin ramblings of past experiences. I’m a thinker – if anyone is familiar with Myers-Briggs typology, I’m an INTP – and like to read and write things that stimulate my intellectual curiosities.
WW1 was a very gruesome and deadly war. As over 16 million people would die in total while another 20 million would be wounded. The assassination of Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary would be the event that would spark this terrible war and would change history forever. Although that was the spark, There were 3 far more important causes. Those 3 causes would be Militarism, Nationalism, and Alliances.
Rowan scooped up her canvas pack by a strap and let it dangle from one hand. She gave it a slight shake, testing the weight, the contents rattling in protest. Her brow furrowed in disappointment. Today had been depressingly unrewarding. Most of the weight came from her own stuff.
Nonfiction is the broadest category of literature. Autobiographies, biographies, memoirs, letters, essays, speeches and news articles are just a few of the many types of nonfiction writing. All of these forms of prose concern real, rather than imaginary subjects. Nonfiction writers present information they consider true. Like fiction, nonfiction writing can be creative.
I am Latina. I am queer. I am a woman. My existence, I have learned, is a giant fuck you to institutions that work to oppress women, queer individuals, people of color and other marginalized identities.

Crystal flicked her ear as she finished catching a fish. She stretched her paws as she thought about what it would be like to be in a Clan. Crystal padded off to her den, which was a small-unused badger cave right beside the foot of a tree. She carefully ate her fish; she tried her best to be quiet. Crystal did not want FeatherClan to hear, scent, or notice her. If they did, Crystal shook with fear as she thought. They would probably cave in my home, and then throw me out. . Then I would have nowhere to go. I would be homeless. I would have to sleep underneath trees and travel continuously. . She sighed before curling up in her underground cave. She continued to eat her fish. When she finished she groomed her pelt and went to sleep.
I have wanted to be a social worker since I was in middle school. I am aware that a career in social work is not for everyone, but I believe it’s a career for me. I enjoy helping others weather it is lending a hand or helping solve a problem. Social workers are able to give back to society which is a goal of mine. I believe that I possess the skills and personality traits that a social worker needs to be effective and successful. I do not posses all of the skills a social worker needs. However, I will continue to work toward the skills I need through education and proactice.
We were all just sitting on the log that we always sit at, fishing in the same place as always, talking about the same old stuff, but today felt different. It wasn’t the weather, it’s always hot here. It wasn’t the group, it was still Mark, Sam, and I. I couldn’t figure out what was so different about today. Mark and Sam are still talking about their dumb wrestling and I’m just waiting to understand a word that they say so I can at least be a part of it.
