Writing assignment 1 1. I want to become a teacher because I want to change and make this world a better place, not only for our present generation, but for the future generations, who are going to be responsible to take care of our planet and our specie. When I mention “change the world”, I am trying to say that this world has taken an opposite path, which is not benefiting our society. In other words, individuals are selfish and ignore the necessaries of the poor people, those individuals who are struggling to survive. While rich people and their corporations are making huge profits. As a professor, my responsibility is and will be to reunite society because this world is divided or separated into two groups: the rich people and the poor people. Being a professor will allow me to share my knowledge, which has to do with the culture, the language and the literature and religion. One of the issues I have seen in our communities that young generations are forgetting their own culture. I want to make students to appreciate their culture and all the sacrifices that their parents have done, for their families. A Jesuit priest from El Salvador, Father Ignacio Ellacuria, used to say that in today’s world, it is not enough to just help people. Instead, we [ educator] need to remove the causes that are affecting our people. for me, those causes are social injustice, violence, violation of the human rights and etc. as future instructors, we need to become leaders, so that way we
Why is teaching an important profession to me? Life is about something, but what it is about for me it is the passing of knowledge that will make society move forward. Without the teacher, we would be in the dark, because, the light of someone teaching would not be. We would not advance as a society, on Medicare or agricultural advances.
I believe that education is the key in developing today’s students into tomorrow’s leaders. Education is the basis on which individuals develop their self-concept and the desire to become more knowledgeable. I want to become an educator because I am interested in helping elementary students become active learners and also to assist with their social skills. I believe I can make a difference to many students as they start their educational foundation. I feel that all teachers should possess the desire to devote their hard work and efforts to their students’ educational success. I view teaching as not only one of the most respected careers, but also as one in which the rewards are great and many
I have chosen to become a teacher because I believe that education is the center of a country’s development process and prosperity. I want to be an educator to play an effective role in my society’s revival. Besides, I have always dreamed to be a teacher; it is a passion, which I truly have since I was young. The strong teaching motivation, which I have is derived from the deep belief that teachers can make a big difference in their students’ lives. In addition, I believe that teaching is a noble profession, which should be taken seriously. I know that being a teacher is never easy; it comes with high responsibilities and obstacles, but I am sure that I have suitable qualifications, which make me eligible to overcome them. Education as a basic concept in my perspective is all about developing knowledge, skills, values, ethics, physical and spiritual aspects,
Education is the field in which, I plan to dedicate a good part of my life. Knowing that I am majoring in education has given me a direction; I plan to work to my fullest potential to obtain the goals and ideals of becoming not just a good teacher but a great one. Through my years in school many of my teachers have influenced me and have shown me a direction and a career. The teachers I have had over the years have shown me the gratification a person can get out of educating children and being a positive influence on them. The pride that I can take in teaching my students is a feeling that has influenced me to choose this field. Seeing that teaching is not only just a job, but also a way I can
Ivan Weltzer Fitzwater has once said, “The future of the world is in my classroom today”. This statement is true because all people in the world today have learned what they know in a classroom. Yes, it can be tiring but teaching is also very rewarding. Teaching could also help people build relationships with others who have the same interests as them. This job is important to society because there would be no other jobs without someone teaching everyone how to do the job first. Teachers are needed for everything in society today.
Teachers have the power to change the world and to make a difference in the student's life. Teacher is a facilitator of knowledge, motivator, advisor and a positive person that can improve the student's education. I decided to pursue the career of education because I have the desire to help others. I also have the ambition to provide encouragement and support to the people that need it. Becoming a teacher means more than sharing my knowledge to the students. It is a commitment with society to shape the performance and learning of future generations.
I wanted to become a teacher because I enjoy serving others, and as a lawyer I have the gift of talking too much. Teaching is so rewarding and gives me a sense that I am making the world a better place one student at a time. I feel proud of my students that always remember me as their teacher, even when they are in college, they pass by the school to see me or if they meet me on the street or any other location, they approach me and show gratitude and that is priceless!
This story is about how to be a good teacher she gives example from her own experience and how she taught. The point the author is making is that she believes that she knows how to be the best teacher. What the author is trying to say is she keeps growing as a person everyday and making herself better and I apply that to myself because i try to grow as a person everyday.
My decision to be a teacher did not come easily to me. This choice was dependent on a reflection about what I was passionate about and how I could make a difference. I have chosen to become a teacher, as I believe teachers have the ability to provide future generations the stimulation for one of the most significant roles in life; to become a lifelong learner. Many teachers that I have had during my education have had a positive impact on my decision to grow and develop the skills that are fundamental to pursue a successful teaching career. My aim is to be a part of an honorable profession with the optimism that one day I will become an efficacious teacher who can provide future teachers with inspiration, as my teachers have provided for me. Through personal educational experiences and peer-reviewed academic literature, I am able to shape my approach to my pre-service teaching, as it will influence my future practice. As a teacher, there is not just one singular approach to educating students; there is a need for flexibility, diversity, adaptation and reflection.
Three main topics that was covered during the semester were; culture and society, human development and social class. Culture is the way of life for a group of people. Their beliefs, their values and their behaviors. It is passed on from one generation to the next. While covering this topic, we spoke about human basic rights and how it affects their daily lives. One human basic right is, the right to life. This right has created many ethical issues such abortions and the death penalties. Another human right is, the right to be treated equality. This human right has also caused some ethical dilemmas, and causing people of different races to be segregated. For example, the black race believe that they are not as privileged as those that are of the white race.
334), teachers are the most significant in-school factor influencing student achievement. Therefore, we should contribute to leading social change. While they aren’t expected to solve any wider social problems such as poverty, they can teach students and other staff members to think about inclusion and social justice. I agree with Rebecca Connell’s (personal communication, March 24, 2017) discussion about teachers needed to lead by example. Her discussion, links to Ballard (2012, p. 79), which states that teachers transmit languages, values and attitudes through classroom interactions. This is why teachers need to contribute to discussions, promote fair and caring relationships and be aware of their
And education is the hope of humanity. The teacher is facing new pedagogical challenges in a globalized world.
I teach because of my insatiable passion to motivate, inspire, and to positively impact my students in a way that will encourage lifelong learning. I believe the best way to positively influence any student is to first build rapport with them. After I establish that relationship, I will proceed to teach and lead that student to academic success. My teaching will be student-centered and focused heavily on inquiry based teaching aligning with the Next Generation Science Standards. I also plan on continuing my education through taking classes, attending conferences, and by traveling.
Being a teacher is being a tool to create progress on each individual. The teacher works on a purpose as a designer; imposing knowledge upon his or her students in some creative manner and as an agent for change. From this purpose, progress will be bestowed in the future or through times. It is my heartfelt desire to choose this field. For almost 3 years of being an aspirant on this field, I have experienced quite a lot of challenges that leads me to learn better especially from our field studies: On becoming a teacher—where I have created a lot of reflections about teacher as a person, teacher in the classroom, teacher and the community, global teacher, and the teacher as a professional. Moreover, I have also figured out everything especially on facilitating learning from the
And realized that this, in itself, was a meaningful form of education. One of my favorite teachers, author and researcher Paolo Freier, speaks very clearly about the need to use education as a tool for constructive and shared human awakening. In his most famous book, The Origins of Teaching the Oppressed, he says: "No one can be an authentic human being while others are prevented from being."
