I would like to become a member of the DMA IMPACT Team, because of the experience I had when I went to DMA. DMA helped me to make my college decision my senior year of high school. It helped me fall in love with Umass, and with marching band even more than I already did. I would like to assist in giving someone the experience I had at DMA that inspired me to pursue my dream of becoming an educator, as well as helping others have a successful season as drum major. Being a drum major can be really stressful and I would love to help future drum majors or section leaders in any way that I can.
I wish to be involved in any way I can with this outstanding group of individuals that help make medical school organizations function in the most efficient and professional manner. I chose a variety of positions because I feel that in each of them I am fully capable of fulfilling the responsibilities set forth. If I had to rank the priority of the positions I would hope to be Junior Treasurer, Philanthropy Chair Assistant, then Social Chair Assistant. I am qualified for these positions because I am diligent, passionate, and communicative. This is exemplified with my positions like School of Medicine Student Ambassador, Student Council Representative in high school, and my membership in various organizations. Currently, I am member of African
I would be honored to take on the extra responsibility and expectations that come with being a Drum Major for The Force. I feel that I
As my high school years come to an end, I've realized something about myself. Since I stepped foot in this school as an up and coming freshman I've noticed that the drum major truly captured my attention. It was like when little kids see someone cool on tv and think, “When I grow up, I'll be exactly like them.” That's exactly how I felt, when I became a senior I wanted to be that person. Finally the time has come for me to show that I am capable of being the best drum major Orland has ever seen.
There is nothing glamorous about putting on scrubs everyday but it is beautiful to be an integral part of a patient taking an interest in their health. The oral cavity is intricately associated with the rest of the body and a fundamental, but often forgotten part of overall health. As a dental hygienist I have the opportunity to educate and help people improve or maintain their periodontal health. I would like to transfer because I have a huge desire to educate future registered dental hygienists and by continuing my education I will be equipping myself to be a stronger leader and mentor for students. Dental hygiene is my passion and my desire is to share my enthusiasm for dental hygiene with future generations of dental hygienists. The
I want to be a drum major and squad leader for the 2018 season of marching band. I know I have the leadership qualities that are needed to fill these positions. The current leadership experience I have through band is being a previous squad leader, holding three band officer positions, and at times being the Symphonic Band clarinet section leader. Outside of band I am a member of the National Honors Society and am a mentor in MVP. I also frequently volunteer with programs that help children and I have been a preschool teacher in one program.
I think it would be a great opportunity to get more involved in the major. It's a chance to get to know other members better and share ideas. Being on the NSSLHA Executive Board would be a great opportunity for me to demonstrate my leadership abilities.
My interest in this position is propelled by my desire to expand my career into NCAA Division I athletics. I believe that this position would be well suited for me to make such a transition
One of the reasons I am going for Drum Major this year is because of the growth that I have seen from the current DM’s throughout their high school careers. I met Emma, Madeline, and Tabby as a freshman and seeing how much they would mature to become strong, independent leaders is something I never initially expected. The personal growth that one gains from leadership is one of the reasons why I believe everyone should experience a leader position at least once in their lifetime. From my year as Drill Instructor, I was able to learn quite an impressive amount, however I believe that I still have quite a ways to go before I am satisfied with my skills as a leader. One of my aspirations is to become a Doctor and have the opportunity to help those
I would like to start by saying I would like to say that being the drum major for our marching band would be an absolute honor. Being Drum Major is one of the most important jobs during this wonderful season and would need to be under great care - which I think I’m capable of. This position is one that I’ve cared about since I first stepped out onto the marching field. I’ve always been inspired to be a leader and to endure the heavy, yet rewarding responsibility. So, what leadership would I bring to the field if I were selected as Drum Major? If I were selected, I would lead by setting an example, yet staying humble, and charismatic.
I would like to be a Drum Major because I feel I would be able to contribute a lot to the band. Over the past two years I have been in band I’ve learned many different ideas and skills from many different people. With that, I want to be able to improve and apply
I am hoping to create one or find a club like the UCO Black Male Fellows because it's a very inspirational organization. This program can support so many people in so many ways and being in a program like this would make me feel so sensational. Getting involved in a program that will give guidance, motivate, and show so much leadership would be wonderful because it would help me do the same for other people around me. I love teaching and learning about the black culture and I will try to make a club where I can do that at
Please discuss one of the following and how it makes you the most uniquely qualified candidate for the APM position: personality and character, life experiences, involvement in extracurricular activities, or academic achievement. I have always loved being a cheerleader. I have been a cheerleader since the forth grade. Cheering was fun for me because it allowed me to be physically active and also allowed me to show my spirit which is what being a cheerleader is all about. One of my most challenging experiences in high school was when due to budget cuts the cheering program was cut in the fall of my senior year unexpectedly. It was very upsetting to me. There was discussion of an unpaid coach but our coach was not willing to provide the time given how much work it was and that she would not get paid. It was very disappointed and lost sleep given it was my senior year and many girls really wanted to cheer. I had been a tri captain my junior year and I felt responsible for the girls that had counted on this program. I decided to meet with the principal and the athletic director to ask them if I could lead the team and coach them and of course without pay. After several meetings with them, they decided to let me run with the program. It was the first time that a student was allowed to do this at Mountain Valley High School. They trusted me and felt that I could handle it. I stayed up countless nights very late doing choreography on my lap top as I had never done
You should pick me for marching band leadership because I am committed to this program and have the competence to lead a team to success. My biggest strengths are my ambition and my ability to take initiative. As a leader, I am compassionate and take time to build strong relationships with those around me. I enjoy being around people as well as having the opportunity to help others. Personally, I think that I would be great as a drum major because I have shown how much I can change and learn from a leadership position. Throughout the past years I have taken advantage of my opportunities and tried my best to improve myself. As a result of this, I have become more confident and happy with the person that I am today. In my section I would love
I am interested in the position of Resident Assistant at The University of South Dakota because it would allow me to take the experience I have gained in the last two semesters as an Resident Assistant and be able to apply them to a new residence hall to help grow a splendid learning community. My two semesters of being a Resident Assistant at USD and my experience at being the President of The University of South Dakota Climbing Team has given me a great organization skills and a greater understanding of the commitment this position requires.
My goals in life are to get a first enlist in the Navy, hope to get a job as a diver in the special operations program. After my first enlistment is up, I want to be a diver at an aquarium where I can feed the animals; Meanwhile, I would like to attend Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science at The University of Miami and earn a doctorate degree in Marine Biology to become a Marine Biologist. I've always been fascinated with animals, especially aquatic life. Although, I wasn't dead-set on becoming one at first, over spring break I made my final decision. We went to an aquarium and I just loved every bit of it; the animal’s interactions, the knowledge behind all of it, and the joy I saw between the employees and the animals. I’m very interested in not just the study of organisms in the ocean or other marine bodies of water, but also marine conservation and ecology. Thinking about the studies of protecting and preserving of the ecosystems in oceans and seas and interactions among organisms and their environment just gets my full attention. I could sit for hours and hours and listen to anybody talk about these subjects and they would have my full attention, one-hundred percent. This subject has never, and never will lose my interest.
