I Want To Be An America Essay

The America that i believe in is a land of freedom, bravery, and is rich with great minds who continue to push forward in technology in many ways.

As we continue in our busy lives, we always take into account what the next days, weeks, or even months hold for us. But what do we Americans hope for in future years, as a country? There have been several events that have occurred around the world affecting our lives in a positive way. However, there were many crises that have set us back, though we try to strive and become even stronger. To continue improving America, we must have the ability to come together as a whole and progress as the days go by, setting a foundation for our future generations.

Defining what really is to be an American does not sound as easy as it seem. It will always be complex process. As immigration continues to fuel the growth of the population of our nation, racial and ethnic gap increase and evolve along with it. Racial and ethnic identities become more and more convoluted and difficult to understand. Race and ethnicity continue to intermingle and push a cultural shift in the US– a shift that plays a significant role in redefining America in a day-to-day basis.

The America i believe in is unlike any other country that I heard of. I'm not really sure where to start because there are many reasons why I believe in it. I guess that I can start with freedom. Toe have many freedoms here that you get to do whatever you want, but obviously it's not like starting a rampage at a public and getting away with it. You still have to keep peace and not going around terrorizing people. I believe in this type of freedom because you don't have a strict dress code, walking around in public. Girls don't even have to wear dresses, which is awesome because some girls don't like wearing those. I also believe that we have the right to own guns and walk around on your property with them. The America I believe in is where nobody can take away our God given rights. One where people have respect for our veterans and know and understand what they have been through. One where no dictator or a ruler from another country can come over and run our country.

I believe in America because I have a choice. A choice to live where I want, go where I want, I have a choice to vote, a choice to live how I want. In other countries, their citizens don’t get that choice. I get to have an opinion on issues and I have the choice to believe in what I want. Freedom isn’t free; I know that people out there in the military risk their lives for our freedom. I’m glad they fought for our freedom and thanks to them I can live how I want. Our freedom is what makes America unique; not many other countries have this. I am glad to be an American,

America is a country of hope and freedom. People come to America for better opportunities for themselves and also their children. The America I believe in supports freedom, equality, and diversity. A lot of people do not realize how lucky they are to live in America because they have never seen or heard about what happens in other countries.

I believe in America and the American way of life…in the Constitution and the Bill of

President Truman once said, “America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, on imagination, and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand”. These thoughts still hold true today. Being an American means so much more than reciting the pledge of allegiance every morning at school. It is more than just watching fireworks on the fourth of July. So what does being an American truly mean? Although there are many different definitions, it is defined by many people as believing in the idea that no matter your race, gender, religion, or background, everyone is created equal and given the opportunity to live their life without fear of discrimination or oppression.

Being an American can mean a number of different things. The most important however, is freedom. As an American citizens, we have freedoms that many others do not. We have the freedom to vote for our president, freedom of speech, religion, and more. Being an American doesn’t just mean you were born in the United States, you can become a citizen by taking a test about our country. Our country is unique because we are made up with people from all around the world. We all have different religions we follow, languages we speak, as well as where we come from. Unlike other countries who might split apart and come up with different names, because of diversity, we embrace our differences.

In our society nowadays, many people take our freedoms for granted. We live our lives as if we had it hard. They complain about all their work, high taxes, bills, corrupt government, and just how terrible people treat one another. Most American citizens believe we should be further ahead and better if you will. “How could we have gotten to this point?” many people ask. What these people don’t realize is how many have sacrificed themselves to help us to get here and make us a better country.

Being American is more than just living between the blurred lines of red, white, and blue but defining how civility, humility, and inclusion helps mesh what is great about the United States of America. We take our liberties to be infinite and without protest when opposition does not infringe upon one's livelihood, but shroud those protections when a sector of the population brings light to injustice. Running to our comfort zones when the judgement is a burden or too difficult will never facilitate change, but will just harbor the resentment of the marginalized while muffling their cries. Can we really accept the love of our country if we refuse to understand one another's differences?

The America I believe in is strong and independent, I have some reasons why I think that. When I hear the word America I think of some words like freedom, Soldiers, and bald eagle. First is freedom Why freedom you ask? Because in America we have freedom and freedom to protest of we don't like something and won't get in trouble like in other places. Soldiers help serve our country, for our freedom and do it every day. There is also Bald eagles, bald eagles are America's bird, people say that is means freedom that is why I think of it when I hear America.

The United States of America, is a nation that people have risked everything to somehow be a part of. The rights and freedoms that are we given here are often taken advantage of, because we don’t know how blessed we truly are. This nation was founded on the idea of freedom, that we as people, are given natural rights that from birth and by God we have. If I was to define what America means to me I would say perseverance, success, equality, and freedom. All of those adjectives might just seem that they are nothing except for words, but they mean something much more.

Obesity is a growing problem in America. If Americans would eat healthy and exercise more, we could drastically increase our lifespan. Diet and exercise are essential to a healthy life. By eating healthy, getting enough exercise knowing the benefits of diet and exercise, and knowing the health risks for being out of shape we can change America for the better.
