I Want To Be Successful In AP World

Everyone who doubted me had to state that they told me not to take it but I felt accomplished that I took the hardest class provided in my high school. It was depressing that I didn’t pass the AP exam but when next year came I took AP Environmental science which was the same concept as AP World in which is all based on note taking and quizzes that relied on the notes you take from the textbook. I felt that AP World History had a major impact on this class because I was taking notes every night studying for the test. I ended up doing really well in AP Environmental science and passing the AP exam with a 4. After I took the exam I started to look back and realize how much AP World helped me succeed. Although I didn’t pass the exam for AP World I felt like all the hard work and dedication carried over to AP Environmental Science which made me realize that all those people who told me not to take the class were only trying to bring me down because it ended up helping me be a better student and leading me to be better prepared for the

I will improve my ability in questioning, to better involve students in critical thinking through discussion on open-ended higher-level questions. I will do research on my own and seek out resources from colleagues in order to improve upon my own ability of asking questions.

So, the question is: what is the destination and how might one prepare for it? The purpose of the AP exam is to award advanced placement to incoming college freshmen, and the preparation, as it so often does, includes a combination of strategy and frequent practice.

For my summer reading assignment, I read, explored and analyzed the book, Freakonomics by Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner. I chose this book because psychology and economics have always interested me, and this book specifically looked at the psychological aspect of our economy. I thought it would be an interesting experience to read it. I decided to take AP World History because during my 8th grade year, social studies really started to interest me. My teacher, Mr. Mark Matthews, really made history come alive for me through his teaching, and all of the simulations he used. I found a sincere interest in history and did well. I have never been the best student in my class, but I always do well and find myself interested in the topics

I want to play a role of a learner and as an activist. I want to learn about everyone’s culture and understand how that plays into the current world. I want to be aware of any problems my classmates face because of who they are and if there is a way I can help them. I have organized fundraisers through GSA and for the 3 other clubs

I believe that the AP program is a good fit for me. It is good for me because I want to learn and become a pilot. Becoming a pilot is my biggest dream. I have always loved planes and I believe that for me to be able to become a pilot I should take this program. The AP program pushes students to their limits and goes beyond them. I would like to take AP European History because of my interest in social studies and my eagerness for a challenge. At the end of second semester AP's, we had to do a presentation combining two AP subjects, and I completely underestimated it. I did one sophomore year with minimal effort and was able to get an 83. I figured, why would this year be any different. Sadly, there was a lot of things I did not account for, such as the grading being easier on sophomores than juniors or seniors. My contribution to the multiple-choice, binary choice, and matching questions was that I created many of multiple choice questions this was because I enjoyed writing the scenarios. School standards at some schools are higher than others and that is based off of the average performance of the student.
