Scuba Pro Magazine, exclusive by Briley Balding famous marine biologist. Writing for a famous science magazine would be a dream come true. Growing up with no ocean easily available, marine biology could seem like an outrageous choice for my major. On the other hand it may seem like an amazing adventure. Marine science, mainly biology is very exciting to me. My grandfather has been a scuba diver for many years and I think that is what sparked my love for all things ocean related. Studying the nature under the water is a feeling like no other for me. This is why I want to major in marine biology, but I also want to be able to capture the beauty of the underwater world for others to see; therefore, I want to minor in oceanography. Capturing photos and videos of majestic creatures is what I want to do for the rest of my life. Marine biology and oceanography have always interested me. Composition one was a class that I was unsure of taking at first. Now being in the class I feel it is a very good decision. I am hoping this class will help me to become a …show more content…
Scuba diving, for me, is an out of body experience. It is a feeling unlike anything else in the world. Sinking below the surface creates some sort of calm that cannot be achieved any other way. Swimming around with some of the world’s most dangerous and majestic creatures is extremely exciting. I not only want to swim with these creatures, but I also want to photograph them. I want to share photos with the rest of the world, so they can somewhat experience what I do underwater. I love being outdoors and in the sun, and being active. Nature just fascinates me. The things nature can do on its own, amazes me. How does a manatee move so gracefully underwater when it looks like a giant rock? I question nature often; although, my questions often go unanswered and that is what I love about
When I was young I was so interested in marine life and how the world under water was so different from ours. It wasn't until I visited Mote Marine when I was exacerbated by the abundance of reef fish species, the beauty of coral reefs, and Mote Marine’s numerous research programs. This is when I knew that I wanted to get involved. I believe this internship will get me one step closer to following my dreams and educate me further on the vast ocean.
A semester has passed since I started college and my journey of becoming a better writer. It has been a very important semester for my future college career, and I would not be here without the things I have accomplished. The composition program has really helped me to prepare for what college writing is all about. Now standing here and looking back I could not imagine how it would be without that class. I believe my English, and my writing is better than it has ever been, and all thanks to the composition program.
I’ve always had a keen interest in science. When I was younger, I viewed a dolphin show online. I was instantly fanisnated and later I was informed that the trainers were special marine biologists. The idea of becoming a marine biologist is still a dominate career choice for me. Last year, I was incredibly curious with the aspects that a marine biologist has to undertake that I researched the career path as part of my PLP. This only ignited my interest even further and when I was invited to attend the Flinders University I particularly focused on the marine biology and biology lectures.
Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of becoming a marine biologist. I was raised on a small farm in Americus, Georgia. Instead of dolls and makeup, I asked for play dinosaurs and pet lizards for Christmas. I grew up caring for every type of animal.
This English Composition II class has educated me so much on how to write better, write in different formats, schedule my time better, and how to improve my writing. Learning more about all of these categories will help me in the future when I need to write other essays for future college classes that I will have. I am very happy that I took this class when I did, because of it I am more prepared for college this fall. I just hope my future professors are as funny and kind as Mr. Stout has been towards
Some reasons why I would like to study this area of science is because there is only a slim percent of the ocean that has been explored and if you find a new fish in the ocean you would get to name it also you would be the first one to see it.Also you get to get in a submarine and you would get to wear scuba gear. This is my report about my famous scientist Sylvia Earle that did include their Early life, what they are best known for,how they made the world a better place, and why I would like to this job one
My major is Biology Pre-Med. I chose this particular major because I eventually want to become a doctor. The thing I like about this field is I like helping people; I want to save as many lives as possible.
College Composition has helped me grow tremendously as a writer. While I am still not where I want to be as a writer, Comp 1 has given me the push in the right direction that high school never did. When I was in high school I had about a month total of grammar over those 4 years so writing was not a big part of my life at that point. Due to that, I knew coming into Comp 1 that I would struggle to produce something worth reading at first. Through countless revisions and reflections on each paper I have learned so much about the process of writing in such a short time.
After taking AP Chemistry, I knew that I wanted to study chemistry in college. I also have been a very inquisitive person my whole life, wondering why things are and how things worked. My inquisitive nature and love of chemistry is why chemical engineering appeals to me. I am drawn to Biomedical engineering due to its application of both chemistry and biology to solve medical problems. Doing a complete 360, I am interested in art history, because not only do I find art fascinating, but I also find it mesmerizing how artists visually represent and were inspired by the world around them.
I was watching Dolphin Tale for the first time with my sister when she decided she wanted to be a marine biologist, thought I was crazy because I wanted to change the way it was done.
My goals in life are to get a first enlist in the Navy, hope to get a job as a diver in the special operations program. After my first enlistment is up, I want to be a diver at an aquarium where I can feed the animals; Meanwhile, I would like to attend Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science at The University of Miami and earn a doctorate degree in Marine Biology to become a Marine Biologist. I've always been fascinated with animals, especially aquatic life. Although, I wasn't dead-set on becoming one at first, over spring break I made my final decision. We went to an aquarium and I just loved every bit of it; the animal’s interactions, the knowledge behind all of it, and the joy I saw between the employees and the animals. I’m very interested in not just the study of organisms in the ocean or other marine bodies of water, but also marine conservation and ecology. Thinking about the studies of protecting and preserving of the ecosystems in oceans and seas and interactions among organisms and their environment just gets my full attention. I could sit for hours and hours and listen to anybody talk about these subjects and they would have my full attention, one-hundred percent. This subject has never, and never will lose my interest.
This was very helpful for my speech class when it came time for my final a persuasive speech. Composition 1 helped me in this way as it helped me be a better persuasive writer. I could accomplish this during several projects I did in this class. First was my profile proposal where I had to convince
The focus of this research paper is to analyze the information, unique characteristics, and history regarding the subculture of scuba divers. Scuba divers get to explore new, exciting, and breathtaking regions in the ocean that many people never get to experience in their whole lives. Scuba divers hold important roles in society because of the discoveries they make on a daily basis. They provide much needed research that is important in the scientific community regarding newly discovered marine species. Scuba divers get the opportunity to explore exceptionally beautiful ocean features that include shipwrecks, coral reefs, and other stunning tropical ocean regions. Many people find scuba diving an enjoyable leisure activity to be involved
