As a young Puerto Rican, I always wanted to be a nurse or a doctor. This is because I have always had a caring heart and I enjoyed to take care of everyone. My educational goal is to get a Doctorate degree in Nursing. Furthermore, to reach that goal I have to start working on my Associate Degree. Therefore, my first educational goal is to begin and complete my associate degree. My career Goal after graduation is working as an RN in the Sarah Todd Nursing Home; the nursing home which I currently work at as a CNA. Being a CNA allows me to reach out and help people. Continuing my education would increase the amount of care that I can provide. As a mother of a young four year old girl this scholarship would help us because not only would it
I want to do when I finish school. My mother always told me that I would be a babysitter, because I like to take care of kids. On the other hand, I thought that I wanted to be a teacher However, being a student for twelve long years I noticed how children behaved in school. In my mind, I knew that wasn’t the future job for me. When I was in the third grade, my grandmother had a stroke. Since she had gotten sick, I had to take care of her .This is what persuaded me to become a Registered Nurse.
My plans to attend college to obtain my nursing degree will benefit the communities of Hawaii by retaining the local workforce. I plan to stay in Hawaii and serve my community as a professional registered nurse as opposed to moving to another state and providing my services there. The health and welfare of my community is something I hold near and dear to my heart. To provide healthcare in a rural area is very special as it takes a person with an understanding of how the community functions. After graduating and obtaining my nursing license I plan on working as a staff nurse to gain experience and set a solid foundation in my nursing career. My hope is to gain experience in various different fields
Perusing in the nursing field has always been a goal that I wanted to achieve for many reasons. I always wanted my future to consist on being an accomplished nurse. I love working with people of all ages. Knowing that I can make a positive

After high school, my plan is to go to college majoring in nursing. While I am in the nursing program, I will intern for a hospital or a doctor’s office for more hands on experience. Following my RN degree, I plan to pursue my goal of continuing my education and becoming a nurse practitioner. I intend to work at a doctor’s office or a hospital as a RN while going to school to help pay off my loans and be able to be financially stable without needing my mother’s help. MY long term goal is to be a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Women Health. I have a desire to treat and educate those in need of medical

After my senior year I will continue my schooling in order to go into the health care. I will do this by continuing to go to Mesa Community College were I will finish to get my associates in applied science of nurse. When I have finished that I will transfer to the university of Arizona to become part of their nursing program, at the same time work on getting my bachelor's and master's degree. I am majoring in graphic design for my associate’s degree. Currently after this semester, I need twenty more credits until I complete my associate’s degree. Once I receive my associates degree, I am looking to transfer to a four year university to major in visual design to become a fashion stylist; during that time, I am hoping to be a part of an internship, studying abroad to learn more skills. Furthermore, once I have achieved in my education, I know I will be successful in pursuing my dream job.
I decided to join the healthcare field, and I will major in nursing when I continue with my post-secondary education. Through numerous volunteering opportunities at my local hospital, I believe nursing is the right career for me. I felt excited every time I volunteered, and there was a sense of comfort in the hospital setting. My dream career is a pediatric nurse practitioner because I enjoy interacting with young children and I want to provide healing for the sick. I want to reflect back and feel accomplished with the children I have healed.
I have always wanted to be a nurse: I do not think there is any task that is as satisfying as treating a patient physically, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually. I first pursued my LPN, and immediately I knew I had chosen the right career path. Every day, no matter how tired and weary I felt at the end of the day, I was invigorated by the sense that I had made a positive change in the lives of my patients. To build upon my capabilities to help others, I then pursued my RN. I am currently in an RN-BSN program and hope to begin a graduate program subsequently to become a family nurse practitioner.
After I moved to the U.S. two years ago, my family and I have been through the hard situation of not having a good economic standing. After staying out of school, I enrolled in an adult continuing education program, since I was not admitted to high school. I found the support that I needed to improve my English language and to obtain my GED diploma. Subsequently, my time was dedicated for the entrance exams and admission process of UTRGV, which has been one of my biggest accomplishments. It is something great but concerning, for I am in need to work to pay for tuition and support my family.
In my future endeavors, I would like to pursue a master’s degree in nursing as an education specialist. This specialty of nursing is something that has always intrigued me and after working within the hospital setting I know this is where I aspire to be. I believe helping current and future nurses expand upon their knowledge would be very fulfilling for me.
I am a nursing student. I have a great passion for caring for others. My short term goals are to graduate Riverland Community College with my Associate's Degree in Nursing this December. I plan to work very hard and prepare to take my nursing licensure exam at the beginning of next year to become licensed as a registered nurse. I will then transfer to Metropolitan State University to complete my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
My name is Mercedes Gutierrez, I was born in a foreign country and came to the United States when I was nine years old. Since I was little I loved the healthcare field and my childhood dream was to become a doctor. My mother was a nurse back in my country of origin and my father was a Dermatologist. After I finished high school I went right on to pursue my dreams. I took some general pre-requisites and made it into nursing school. Initially I wanted to be a doctor, however looking at tuition expenses and many other factors I decided that nursing was more appropriate for me. Today, I am glad I made that decision. I finished as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the age of twenty and from there I completed my associate’s degree in nursing and became a Registered Nurse at the age of twenty- four.
Becoming a nurse has been my career goal for as long as I can remember. From the time I was old enough, I have had jobs ranging from food service and bagging groceries at the local market, to sales. All of these things provided monetary value to me, but none fulfilled my life enough to choose that as a career path. I have always wanted to have a profession that allows me to help and serve others and my present position as a Certified Nursing Assistant has shown me that becoming a nurse would allow me to do that.
Being a native to Ohio usually means go Bucks! Yet, I never felt like Ohio was my home. I was practically raised on the clear blue Michigan water in Hillsdale, and playing in the sand dunes of Silver Lake. Michigan has always felt like home. When applying to colleges it was a no brainer to apply to University of Michigan.
