I would say that today was an awesome day. I really like how we starting out our session with icebreaker challenge because I feel like that makes my blood flowing better. I am not the morning person so sometimes I came to summer bridge sleeping. However, after the icebreaker, I was more alert and I feel like I can focus better. One the thing I like about the icebreaker today was, we get involved with other group. I had a really good time playing captain is coming. I feel like this game make me actively elaborated with other students. Today, I learned a lot about myself. In math session two, I learned that over the summer I had forgotten a lot of math that I have learned in high school. I really appreciate that we get to have a session that
I really like getting into the nitty-gritty of solving problems. I was happy to see that several students actually provided solutions to the problems that were identified using Heap’s law. I wish I had the time this week to have looked into it myself. I’m hoping that we might be doing some of that next week though.
For closure I would like to call on students at random and ask them what we learned today, if they cannot answer I will call on another student to help them out with their answer. I will then give a quick preview of what we will learn tomorrow and then connect how we can use this information in our everyday lives
This week was full of topics that I had not studied before. I enjoyed learning about the Mexican American War. This is a topic I am very unfamiliar with. As a resident of Texas, I was surprised how much I did not know. I had always assumed that Mexico had a weak army so learning that they had a bigger and more powerful army was interesting. I was also unfamiliar with all the figures that played a role in the Mexican American war. I wonder if we could have a president who now who is able to keep his campaign promises now the way James K. Polk did. It was encouraging to me to see that the American soldiers acted appropriately and treated the Spanish priests that they encountered with respect and behaved well. It was fascinating to see Robert
Have you ever felt stressed about homework? Or have you ever wanted to just come home and relax? This is why the Burris Laboratory School should provide an in-school study hall during school. having study halls during the school day would help improve grades and understanding of subjects. By providing a study hall, there shouldn’t be any excuses for students to not doing their assignments. Not only will having a study hall increase grades, but will allow the students to fill their nights with some event or activity that the student likes doing.
“ We are not leaving any man behind,’’ said George Washington. As he was the last person to leave Brooklyn. He was thinking about the narrow escape from ending the revolution. He was thinking about the disappointing loss that might’ve ended the war. This was the battle of Long Island. It was a battle of trickery and everybody knew what was at stakes. As this event was an event of fear and horror, It was a battle of surprises and mistakes. But, was it enough to end the American Revolutionary War?
Royalton High School follows a 7 period day schedule, 50 minutes class periods, typically 5 days a week beginning at 8:15am and ending at 3:22pm. A regularly scheduled day consists of seven four minute passing periods and a 15 minute homeroom at the end of the day. Homeroom is not considered as a scheduled class, and even though it is not required, it is still beneficial to many students. The sole purpose of homeroom is to inform students of extracurricular activities, scholarships and college visits, the announcements, and reduce class absences.
Good discussion forum, everyone providing excellent tips and information which adds a lot more value to our learning, especially this week that I was not sure what answers were expected for the discussion.
It was Rowdy and my first day In Reardan. This would probably be the only day where I am actually happy to go to school. I did my morning regular and dad luckily drove me to school and on the way picked up me and Rowdy. I hope this day goes as well as it
Today was particularly fun for me because I learned how to paint on a canvas. The painting was one for Florida pride. It was the shape of Florida which incorporated all the elements that are associated with a tropical scenery. I loved it! Everyone was very helpful, and welcoming. I felt a bit more comfortable today because many classmates came to the event. So, I had people that I could physically speak with. Although, we were supposed to sign…it’s still a working progress. Sandra helped me with my painting and it was neat. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the painting instructors name, but I know her face. She made her rounds looking at our paintings
Throughout my high school career I have taken several rigorous classes in order to test my academic ability. However, my school has not given me the opportunity to take a particular type of course commonly found at other other high schools around the country: Advanced Placement. Rochester High School does offer thirty-eight honors classes, but these lack the prestige of AP courses. The difficulty and curriculum of an honors course varies by school and by state, so universities cannot fully understand a student’s course load when this type of class appears on his or her transcript, especially when the applicant is from out-of-state.
Today started great I got up around ten and was able to grab some brunch at the student center. Class today started at three so I had plenty of time to kill after I finished my meal. I deiced to visit the Ray to play some basketball before class began. When I got to the gym there were already several students who were shooting around and eventually I was able to compete with them in some two on two, then some three on three and we also played some knockout and
This spring break I went to the Poconos in Pennsylvania, I did a lot of fun stuff, but what excited me the most was skiing, skiing was the most difficult thing I have done in a long time, we went to the Shawnee ski resort, and over there we rented out some skiing gear and went skiing, the first time I tried moving I fell right after, once I figured out how to move, I went up the beginners mountain and threw myself down for the first time, I was very scared when I first skiied down the beginners mountain, I did not fall, after a couple of times of skiing down I thought I was ready for the experts course. After I decided I was ready, I went to the chairlift, and the lift escalated real quick before I knew it I was about 50 feet above the ground
My favorite day of spring break was probably Wednesday. My least favorite day was probably every other day. On Wednesday, my family went downtown and had fun together. Every other day, I was babysitting two fourth and sixth grade boys.
My aim for today was to make more time for one on one sessions with the residents. This actually ended up working quite well as 5 of the 12 residents in cottage #3 went out for a bus outing from 0930-1100. I came back from my first break and was entirely done all the AM care, including that morning's shower, so I was able to take an hour to file and paint the nails of two residents.
It was my favorite and first and class of the day – even though it was third period – because it was a class that did not bore me and it made me think. The class was fair and challenging, but it was not stressful. The humorous jokes said during the class as well as the comments made towards certain students were delightful to listen to as we were doing the labs in class. Also, I’d like to mention that your T-shirts are awesome. From comparing teachers and classes, I noticed that you were teaching more topics than some other teachers. For example, I learned more about css and html than my peers did because we were not simply using pre-made templates. I learned how to integrate all of this together with python into the labs and projects that were not only functional but they were also aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. All the above things motivated me to work harder in
