I experienced a bio-reaction when I couldn’t hear or immediately find my toddler. There was a lot of noise and confusion in my friend’s home that day with several families visiting. Bigger children were running in and out and doors were slamming. Children we laughing and talking and babies were crying. I was terrified. I experienced what felt like an electrical shock across the surface of my entire body. My heart was pounding wildly in my ears. I was nauseated, I thought I would vomit. I also experienced a bio-reaction when I was riding a toboggan sled in Germany with my 5-year-old in front of me. The sled was racing down the track, picking up speed, faster and faster. The trees looked like a green blur, the sleds in front of me were getting closer. My boy was laughing. I pulled back on the brake and the car continued to pick up speed. As I rounded a curve the sled lay almost on its side, One arm around my son, the other pulling back on the brake. My shoulder and elbow were dragging along on the bottom of the track, but I didn’t feel any pain. I knew we were going to be ejected. I was horrified at the picture in mind. As the deadline approached, I experienced many of the same physical manifestations that I described in the previous experiences. To make matters worse, in the days preceding the assignment deadline, I found excuses to procrastinate causing me to experience more anxiety and dread which lead to even less productivity. I was unable to produce sentences that were clear and comprehensible on my laptop. I became extremely frustrated. I couldn’t think. I felt like I was in over my head. Unequal to the assignment. I stayed up most of the night. Although my house was quiet and there were no distractions, I couldn’t seem to stay focused. I got no sleep and yet the assignment was disjointed and
