Identifying Opportunities for Improving Productivity at Jim Beam Brands Introduction Today, Beam, Inc. doing business as Jim Beam Brands competes in the whiskey and bourbon sector of the alcoholic beverage industry, but the company has also launched several additional brands in recent years including the manufacture and distribution of cordial and bourbon products. Based on Jim Beam Brands' stated corporate goal of pursuing continuous innovation and improvement in its product lines, this report provides recommendations for improving the productivity and construction of new machines for the company's bottling floor production using computer-aided design software. These recommendations are based a review of the relevant secondary literature as well as the author's 8 years' of experience with the company as a department manager, together with primary data derived from face-to-face interviews with other department managers. A review of the secondary literature is followed by a summary of the primary data with salient recommendations concluding the report.
