Throughout my research of discovering whether to take Ferrer Custom Furniture to the next level of business by globalizing I will provide the organization with my findings. In order to expand the business globally we have to strategically plan a way to formulate the business in a way that would be conducive to explore the benefits of doing business in a multinational platform. By doing this the company is diversifying its resources and creating and developing new investment opportunities. He also states that trade among nations using comparative advantage promotes growth, which is accredited to a strong correlation between the openness to trade and the effect on economic growth and performance. I have learned through research that the furniture manufacturing business is in high demand in the global market and there are many businesses that export and import their furniture. I do feel that Ferrer Custom Furniture can maintain a competitive edge should they globalize however, because of the current competitiveness I feel that more studying of the market in this arena should be done before moving forward at this time. It is then essential to cover what the economic benefits of globalization are, and how these may impact a sector or company. Most of the literature study’s that have been written on the economic benefits of globalization have been after 2006. The reason is because the studies used the globalization index which was created by Dreher (2006) then further developed by Dreher (2008) again.
