When people hear the word “college”, many panic inside at the thought. But, when I hear the word “college” I think about Illinois State University. In early July, I attended an Open House at ISU for my very first official college visit. As I stepped onto campus, I couldn’t but help to feel like it was my future home. Many aspects of the tour made me draw nearer to choosing this college after finishing my High School career. Illinois State University seems to fit my personality very well, has an amazing program for what I want to study, and is an outstanding campus for my academic strengths and weaknesses. My personality can be expressed in many ways. If I had to think about who I am as a person, I would describe myself as outgoing, funny, hard-working, ambitious, creative, and proactive. In my opinion, my personality would fit very well with Illinois State University. I have the drive and motivation to always try my hardest and put in 100% at all times. My outgoingness and creativeness will help me get along with students and professors and help me grow out of my comfort zone. Adults are always asking me what I want to do when I graduate high school or what I want to be. Not until the ending of my Junior year did I know the answer to that question. I’ve …show more content…

Upper Iowa University began on very humble terms. The university started out in 1854 when a pioneer woman convinced her husband and son-in-law to donate 10 acres and 10,000 dollars to start a local school. Through the years, Upper Iowa University gradually expanded into one of the most popular higher learning institutions in the Midwest. During the 1990s and until the present time, the university has expanded into 25 campuses throughout the nation and globe. These 25 educational locations include single campuses in Arizona, Illinois and Oklahoma and two locations in Kansas. There are five locations in both Iowa and Louisiana and Wisconsin has ten campuses. There are global campuses in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
As a young girl, going to a university had appeared to be a farfetched daydream. However, I have matured since those thoughts and have spent countless hours depositing effort to reach this so called farfetched dream. Illinois State University was one of the numerous universities sprinting through my mind. When I buckled down and made I.S.U. my first choice, the decision was clear for why I should attend this particular school. First of all, the location of the university meet my personal needs. With Bloomington only being 45 minutes away from my hometown, I would be eligible to visit my brother if need be. My younger brother, Payton, has depended on me a great deal since my parent’s divorce. Therefore, it would be in my best interest to be close to home. Secondly, the program and technology offered in my field of study intrigued my longing for knowledge. Illinois State University has often been recognized, by the staff of my high school, as a top notch university for those interested in teaching. Lastly, I chose this 4-year university
College is a critical time in a young adult’s life. Whether classes make a student realize his or her major isn’t right for him or her or college helps him or her get closer to his or her career, college plays a massive role in helping people. When making a decision on which college to attend, all aspects of each college should be taken into consideration. Some of the most important features of a school are the location, class size, and tuition. Lewis and Clark Community College and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville are colleges local to people in the Madison County. Lewis and Clark is a less expensive community college with a small student body who only offer Associate degrees to their students. On the other hand, SIUE (Southern Illinois
“Give me an Army of West Point graduates and I'll win a battle... Give me a handful of Texas Aggies and I'll win a war.”- George S. Patton, Jr. West Texas A&M University (WTAMU) is a school with a strong sense of pride. WTAMU is affordable, has high acceptance ratings, teaches what I want to learn, and is not far from where I live. WTAMU is the best college for me to attend to become a computer engineer.
Saint Louis University is located in Saint Louis, Missouri. There are 3 million people living in the metropolitan area of Saint Louis. Some people may think that 3 million people is too massive for a college town, nevertheless, that population may make it even better than a college town. There is a considerable amount of attractions around the Saint Louis area that makes Saint Louis University a pleasurable place to go to college. Conveniently near campus is Forest Park. Forest Park is larger than the New York City’s Central Park. Within Forest Park there are the Saint Louis Art Museum, Saint Louis Zoo, Missouri History Museum, and the Saint Louis Science Center. All of these attractions in Forest Park have free admission! There is also the City Museum, which surrounds you of intriguing
As a military wife one of my greatest duties is to support my husband while he supports our nation. That duty has led to our family having to relocate and change many aspects of our lives including which school I attend. I am thankful that that obligation is now making it possible for me to potentially attend The George Washington University. While transferring midway through a degree certainly is not ideal I do feel like this is a remarkable opportunity that I am eager to embrace. I cannot help but feel as if my journey in higher education is finally getting where it was supposed to be all along. As a teenager, I envisioned life at my age and it never involved four children and a halfway complete English degree. I had planned to attend the university in my hometown and then, after four perfect years of course, become a wonderful high school English teacher just doing what I loved every day.
As seniors in high school, our minds are all about graduation and what the next step in our lives are going to be. Many students plan on going to college after they graduate; however, deciding what college to go to is one of the hardest decisions most seniors have to make. I have narrowed it down to two colleges, The University of Illinois and Southern Illinois University. After close examination of the factors of the history of the school, admission, tuition, campus, and academics, I decided rather then going to The University of Illinois I should attend Southern Illinois University.
“How did it get so late so soon? It’s night before it’s afternoon. December is here before it’s June, my goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?” - Dr. Seuss. Senior year goes by a lot faster than someone might think, and now the time has come to choose where I would like to go for the next chapter in my life. I have the choices of attending Illinois Valley Community College, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and Southern Illinois University Carbondale. I should attend Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.

Johns Hopkins University is better known as the first American Research Institution, by which many other universities have attempted to follow its footsteps. Due to the wealthy distribution of the the seven million dollars Johns Hopkins had accumulated throughout his life, Johns Hopkins University was founded in 1876 and the Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1889. Although I have thoroughly enjoyed living in the Columbus suburbs, it has left me with a yearning for greater. Seeing pictures of metropolises such as Chicago and New York always fascinated me, even as a child; and from a young age I became enthralled with Chicago - it has always been my reverie to live there. When my search for colleges began, Chicago was my obvious starting point which led immediately to Northwestern.
I would describe my personal character as very outgoing and social. It is very easy to communicate with me and I can make friends very easily. I am also very responsible and get things done on time. I hold strong leadership qualities and hold confidence in myself. I am someone who can adjust to situations as they come my way and deals with them well. I enjoy discovering new things in society and trying different activities as well. I believe my personal character suits TCU well because it is a school that values strong
Now, I am a senior in high school, and I have quickly found this decision right on my doorstep. Over the past few years, I have had my eyes on several different post-secondary college options, but I have narrowed this list quite significantly over the past few months based on factors like their available majors, the college’s size, and the extracurricular activities that are offered by the institution. With this said, I have selected three colleges that have specifically caught my eye based on these factors: Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky; Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana; and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in St. Mary of the Woods, Indiana.
It took me years to figure out what I wanted to be when I grow up. Truth be told I still don 't know, and don 't ever plan too. Mostly because I cannot imagine becoming a true adult. I’d have to do adult things like return a sweater I didn 't like or gardening. Gardening! I’d have to spend hours upon hours toiling in fields for plants that won’t live to see spring! Or cooking, forbid it that I should ever enjoy cooking. Half the time I mess up boiling water, and make macaroni solely from a microwave. I 'm still be afraid of librarians and speaking to strangers. I intend to use Mickey Mouse band-aids, color with crayons and eat lucky charms until the day I 'm cold in my grave. I could never be a good adult.
