Between 2010 and 2015, America, Europe and Oceania had a net inflow of over two hundred million immigrants a year, with Northern America hosting the third largest number of international migrants (54 million). A large influx is of refugees, seeking sanctuary in another country in hope for a life of complacency and remuneration. Migration, one way or another, remodels one’s identity. For some this change may be preferential, as they might wish to efficaciously blend into colors of a new culture and integrate and assimilate themselves into norms of community. In contrast, for others, they are urged into this metamorphosis - a vital push factor being racism and discrimination, inequity and injustice so that they are not cast aside as a pariah of sorts. Regardless, this shift in identity leads to numerous dilemmas, the foremost being eventual loss of culture as people gradually renounce from their traditions, legacies and heritage.
