Colonialism:
Sometimes most of the people think that colonialism and imperialism are same political cocepet. But they were wrong as both Colonialism and Imperialism means political and economic domination of the other yet the tow word have two different meaning. Colonialism is where one nation assumes control over the other and Imperialism refers to political or economic control, either formally or informally. In simple words, colonialism can be thought to be a practice and imperialism as the idea driving the practice.
In full simple language we can describe, when a nation takes controls of other nation full power to control the same nation that’s mean colonialism. In the way ofcolonialism a nation goes totally in under control by another nation.

Impact of the Revolt of 1857:
A major impact on our national movement occured after the Revolt of 1857.
Against the British rule all classes of people combined and brought together for the first time. The revolt end to East India Company’s rule, along with changes in the British policy towards Indian States and it gave rise to nationalism. Indian people became more aware of their heroes, who sacrificed their lives to save the country. So that others might live in free India in times to come. The revolt scarred the relationship between Hindus and Muslims with the Divide and Rule Policy which was adopted by the British. They thought if they wanted to continue their rule in India, it was important to divide the Hindus and Muslims.
All can say that British give changes in every sector of India. The latest faster weapons of that time were come in hand with the help of them. They also contribute a lot in combination, education sector and also in many other ways. But they made all lives miserable. They give us all those kinds of things just because they also use the Indian as a toy of own will. As they give more they take out more than a lot from
Imperialism is when a country increases their power by conquering additional territories. Examples of imperialism was when Britain spread itself over five continents, France holding large amounts of land in Africa. Also another example would be America having U.S. Military bases all over the world. In fact many countries with vast power were trying to make land grabs. Germany had a rivalry with Britain and France Because Germany was trying to hold land in Africa.
Imperialism is the act of creating an empire, through extending a country’s power by force or forming international relations. In many cases, the imperializing country reaps the financial benefits and extracts resources/raw materials from the country that is colonized, leaving the natives with little to no resources and without the ability to advance or develop. When, one country enters another and takes over, it silences the people living there, and takes away their right of saying how their country should be governed. This lack of listening by the colonizers usually has disastrous results: destroyed economies, lives lost, and broken alliances, like the relationship between the British and the Chinese from the early 1700s until around 1912.
Throughout the years many historians have compilated and examined why Indian people were so desperate to gain back their independence from the British Empire during their rule over India, from 1612 to 1947. The reasoning can most definitely be found as the British discriminated against Indian people as they believe that they were inferior; it is no surprise that Indian people fought so hard for their independence. Throughout the British Raj, they placed and put forward unbelievably racist acts and laws which discriminated against Indian people. Which of course led to Indians to rebel against the British rule and which the British reacted with causing massacres. Explaining the nationalistic many India’s felt during the British Raj.
Although it could be argued that Britain unified India 500 million diverse Indians, and built a strong Indian army, they had an extremely strict cruel government that eliminated Indians freedom and used their own army against them as punishment. According to Dr. Lalvani imperialism in India resulted in “the bringing together of several different states into one unified India” However before the British came to India Hindus and Muslims lived together in peace for centuries. And while Britain was present and after they left the two religious groups were extremely divided and violently fought. Including wars that resulted in “5,000 people dead and 12,000 people hurt” (Gandhi). Britain encouraged separation and division of Muslims and HIndus because of the attack strategy, “divide and conquer” upon the idea that it would be easier to take over and govern a country that was fighting among
(e). Colonialism is the process and establishment by a political power a colony in one territory from another territory. It also involves subsequent expansion, maintenance, and exploitation of the colony. The term is also describes a set of unequal relationships in between the colony and the colonial power. Often, it’s between the indigenous people and the colonialists.
Imperialism is when a mother nation takes over another nation and become its colony for political, social, and economical reasons. Imperialism is a progressive force for both the oppressors (mother country) and the oppressed (colony), majorly occurring during the late 19th and early 20th century. It had more negative effects than positive effects due to its domination to other nations.
Imperialism is the policy in which a strong nation seeked to dominate other countries .The Age of Imperialism expanded their influence and economic interests throughout much of the world.
Nearly 100 years prior to partition, the British had already begun division based upon religion. At first, the British tolerated and respected the Sepoys’ religious beliefs. Although they were relegated to the lower ranks, the British put forth an effort to be religiously sensitive towards them. Soon after, however, those once tolerant ideologies had taken a turn towards racism. In 1857, a rumor spread that the Lee Enfield Rifles’ cartridges contained pork and beef fat. This presented a problem with both the Hindus and the Muslims in the army, as they had to bite these cartridges, resulting in them going against both faiths. The refusal of the Sepoys led to the Great Revolt of 1857. Those who refused were publicly humiliated and expelled or
Colonialism, by definition is “the control or governing influence of a nation over a dependent country, territory, or people, but colonialism is much more sinister than simply influencing a “dependent country, territory, or people” as the above definition would have us believe. If we were to form our own definition of colonialism based on the current refugee crisis in Europe or the horrors that took place in Africa and America in the past, we can say that colonialism is the exploitation of a territory’s natural resources, taking full political control by force over a territory, and the forcing of these people to assimilate to their beliefs
Imperialism is the policy of extending a nation’s political and economic dominance or control over another territory or country. Imperialism led to militarism and nations begin to build huge armies and military leaders rise up. Militarism is the belief or desire of a government or people that a country should maintain a strong military. Imperialism in the 19th century had many effects upon 20th century Nationalist movements and consequences of human rights violations.
1Colonialism occurs when a country or a nation takes control of other lands, regions, or territories outside of its borders (boundaries of the country) by turning those other lands, regions, or territories into a colony. Usually, it is a more powerful, richer country that takes control of a smaller, less powerful region or territory. Sometimes the words "colonialism" and "imperialism" are used to mean the same thing.
Imperialism is a state of mind, a certain way of looking at people and life. The imperialist culture is a selfish one; it imprints a seal on all of its descendants, thus creating masters out of
Sukarno, first president of Indonesia, said, “I hate imperialism. I detest colonialism. And I fear the consequences of their last bitter struggle for life. We are determined, that our nation, and the world as a whole, shall not be the play thing of one small corner of the world.” Looking back in our history, American, English, European, we see time and time again the imperialistic and colonialist ways of our ancestry. France colonializing Vietnam, the Dutch imperializing South Africa, and England colonializing Native America are just a handful of times we see these two actions come to play. So what does it mean to have an imperialistic rule over another territory? What is the meaning behind colonialism? Why is it a common act and why is it predominantly found in western culture?
In essence, colonialism is the establishment, exploitation, maintenance, acquisition, and expansion of colony in one territory by a political power from another
When India was given its freedom, it created a large impact on the world. Instead of being forced to trade with only the British East India company, it now had access to trade with the rest of the world. Under British Rule, they were slowly given more freedom, and eventually had the opportunity to make some decisions for their own country. When Great Britain started to slow down India’s Independence process, people in India started to rebel and protest.
