Sometimes most of the people think that colonialism and imperialism are same political cocepet. But they were wrong as both Colonialism and Imperialism means political and economic domination of the other yet the tow word have two different meaning. Colonialism is where one nation assumes control over the other and Imperialism refers to political or economic control, either formally or informally. In simple words, colonialism can be thought to be a practice and imperialism as the idea driving the practice.

Impact of the Revolt of 1857:

A major impact on our national movement occured after the Revolt of 1857.
Against the British rule all classes of people combined and brought together for the first time. The revolt end to East India Company’s rule, along with changes in the British policy towards Indian States and it gave rise to nationalism. Indian people became more aware of their heroes, who sacrificed their lives to save the country. So that others might live in free India in times to come. The revolt scarred the relationship between Hindus and Muslims with the Divide and Rule Policy which was adopted by the British. They thought if they wanted to continue their rule in India, it was important to divide the Hindus and Muslims.

All can say that British give changes in every sector of India. The latest faster weapons of that time were come in hand with the help of them. They also contribute a lot in combination, education sector and also in many other ways. But they made all lives miserable.
