Implement Collaboration Case Study

Collaboration involves negotiation and consensus seeking (Blais & Hayes, 2016). As the assistant director of nursing, I am a member of the Quality Improvement committee. Our purpose is to meet on a monthly basis to review feedbacks from patients regarding their home health aides. We need to know if the patient needs are being met, if they are being treated with respect and what improvements can be made to keep quality aides in order to ensure quality care of patients. Providing good care for home health patients with chronic conditions needs to be organized and coordinated (Barr & Ross, 2007).

I presented Esteban’s case during case consultation because I noticed that I had countertransference when doing his intake. My expectation when presenting this case was to receive feedback that would help me to provide effective treatment to Esteban without my countertransference affecting his treatment. I interact with the mobile dental van. This van goes within the community to help the underserved population that lack access to care for various reasons. As far as the Dobbs Ferry Campus van come to campus and serve a huge population of children, who otherwise may not receive the appropriate care that is needed. This included how long the meeting last to possible break opportunities. Through observation, specifically with the Architecture, I noticed excellent facilitation techniques from Gary and the overall respectfulness of the team. On 9/14/16 I met Ms. Alexander at the office of Dr. Raymond. Ms. Alexander arrived with an oxygen tank and using her amigo. She reports her pain is at a 5 from the thoracic spine. She still has pain in her right knee. She is able to walk in her home about 10 to 12 feet and cannot use her stairs. Activities cause increased shortness of breath and fatigue.
