Collaboration is very important in this process. Setting goals requires that a client be truthful about their strengths and weakness. Sometimes we feel we are strong in some areas when in fact we are not. This is why it is important that the case manager establish a relationship with the client to asked questions to determine their strengths and weakness. The client will be more open to discuss their needs and the case managers will be able to guide the client into listing his or her goals that are achievable. Collaboration is also important when writing the objectives, because the case manager will have to be included in the plan.
It is important to consult family, friends, carers and parents when planning person centred support. Every day you should work in partnership with those you support, their families, health professionals and your colleagues. You are working with them so that the individual can fulfil their dreams and ambitions, and so that you can assist them with their particular needs. Most family carers have a wealth of knowledge and experience about their family member. They know their likes and dislikes, their personal history and any particular medical needs. They are often more than happy to share what they know with new workers. A major aspect of partnership working is bringing people together in an atmosphere where this is simply the accepted way of
1. What is the one topic that really stood out to you in Chapter 9- Collaborating in Teams? Why? Chapter nine in our textbook addressed collaborating in teams. This chapter did an excellent job of informing the reader about several key elements pertaining to teamwork. Topics like elements of teamwork, team dynamics and how to improve them, and ways to enhance teamwork. After completing the homework for this week in conjunction with our required reading assignments one aspect of our reading really stood out to me. Learning about the differences between groups and teams in the workplace was very interesting to me. As learned, there are several fundamental differences between groups and teams. Some of the components of a group are: roles
Reflecting on the social change agents in action videos, the one I found particularly inspiring the “Power of Collaboration" by Marrian Kunth. This because Kunth a very brave woman succeeds to connect with other people’s power and passion. She proves that when collaboration exists between different people from different places, it is easier for them to connect to each other and work together to make a common change.
Collaboration can help the professionals learn from one another’s skills and help them to identify their own useful skills. This can motivate professionals on diving deeper with specific topics and furthering their knowledge and education in order to benefit not only themselves, but everyone that they work with.
Problem-solving and collaboration are critical strengths for success in a fluid, diverse environment such as the PRA division. As a student-athlete, I have grown to view time-management, commitment, and cooperation as imperative skills for success. Through Riley Dance Marathon and Special Olympics, as well as a visit to Indiana University’s health care facilities at the epicenter of the HIV epidemic in Kenya, I have discovered my passion and desire to work within the healthcare industry. As a kinesiology major I have a strong background and interest in the medical field that will place me ahead of my peers and push me to excel in your company. Lastly, I firmly believe an experience in the PRA division at Eli Lilly, paired with a liberal arts
My first area of collaboration this coming school year is with my administration team and teachers. By collaborating with these teams, I can help them understand the importance of special education, legal and policy and educating all students. Next, is the collaborating with the district office and making sure that they understand what is going on in the schools so that they can better support leadership and teachers in the school. Last, and most importantly is the collaboration with the students and their families. By being up front and clear with families and students about the student performance and what work is needed to help the student, the better prepares the whole team is in supporting the student.
Our daily usual task would be to print T-shirts and work as a sales person. I had 3 other co-workers that were working with me. I would break down the task we had to do and assign specific parts to each employee. Boys were allocated with printing, moving boxes of prints and clothes and managing the stock room. Girls were assigned with mostly hanging the clothes, folding the T-shirts and talking to the customers. But at that times we would rotate the task so no one gets bored of doing the same thing everyday. This helped in building teamwork and communication. Working co-operatively like this increased the
Collaboration means a collegial working relationship with another health care provider in the provision of (to supply) patient care. Collaborative practice requires (may include) the discussion of patient diagnosis and cooperation in the management and delivery of care. Each collaborator is available to the other for consultation either in person or by communication device, but need not be physically present on the premises at the time the actions are performed. The patient-designated health care provider is responsible for the overall direction and management of patient care.
“Helpful Tips for Collaboration in Group Work” provides an excellent template of what it looks like to be a part of something greater than one’s self. It articulates in writing things that I have discovered oftentimes through the hard way with things going wrong in group projects. Like many, I share the frustrations of doing 90% of the work in a group project, in my case it was building a lego robot in the 6th grade. My partner and I had a blast dreaming up the possibility of bringing a robot to class for a project about industrial technology, but that same passion was not transferred to the workload. I relate to being the domineering partner also, through many cultural presentation in the 9th grade where I insisted on controlling the direction of everything the group was doing. If my group members had only known how to use humor and directness as described in this article the group as a whole would of been much more productive. I discovered the importance of setting clear attendance expectations when members of the leadership team I was a part of did not consistently show up, and we did not know what to do because there were
I also feel that it is very important to work as a team. Being in a team can be very helpful because you have different minds thinking together and someone might have an idea better for the patient. It also will help everyone in the group because it takes the stress off of just one person and you can spread it throughout the group so that way one person isn’t being worn out for their long shift.
Realizing that a group can become a high performance team is important. Accomplishing this goal is invaluable, advantageous and profitable. Once able to operate from a group to the high performing team is a great step into preparation into the big business world. Leaders and members must also realize not only how to accomplish this but that some problems will and can arise from different demographic characteristics and cultural diversity. That is if one is in such a group, which the probability would be quite high.
