Have you ever thought about what your community would look like without litter? If so, it may take a while to find out. One person throwing something on the ground may not think much of it, however, when that trash finds other trash, they begin to build up and make big piles of junk. For example, I am sure people never thought that if they littered, their trash would end up in the pacific garbage patch. Believe it or not, no one thinks that until you look at the pacific garbage patch and see how disgusting it looks just because people were to lazy to throw their trash away. To make matters worse, littering has become very common, which should be stopped because in most cases, trash is not disposed of properly,
Recycling is presently one of the most controversial topics, considering that while most individuals put across their support regarding the act the number of individuals who actually do something in order to recycle is much smaller. Many people are currently unable or unwilling to recycle properly because the process often requires a series of changes in one's life. It is thus essential for the authorities to provide educational programs meant to assist individuals in understanding why recycling is important and in learning how to recycle effectively. People need to accept the fact that the benefits of recycling will reflect on the future and that conditions are currently critical as a result of the fact that the masses are generally unacquainted with the importance of this process.
To begin, one reason why we should conserve is because almost everywhere in Sioux City has trash somewhere. We could work together and make a program that will help clean up Sioux City. This makes us only a couple steps away from reaching our goals. Not only would it clean Sioux City but also it would teach parents/students the reason why it is important to recycle/conserve. I know that as of right now we have bins everywhere over Sioux City. However, I am noticing that many people do not use these recycling
Pollution is an issue that could potentially cause damage and recycling conveys an important role. An issue we currently phase is trash segregation, students aren’t recycling or separating trash as they should. As mentioned earlier, mindset is just as important as action - they have careless, ignorant mentalities. What my project proposes, are two main part the action and the mentality transformation. The action idea is to develop as community service recicle trashcans with that from the outside look the same as what its entering in them, an example could be a trash can full that physically look like a plastic bottle, so students only troth there there plastic
Paper bags, cans, plastic trash, these are all examples of some of the things that I have seen driving to school and here's what I want to do about it. I intend to improve the community by taking annual field trips to do adopt-a-highway because, it would help the environment, make the town more presentable, and lastly it would save the government and taxpayers money. Adopt-a-highway would have a good impact on the environment, freeing it of clutter. Having a more presentable town would attract more tourists which means more money for small business. Adopt-a-highway would save the taxpayers money because there wouldn’t be anymore litter scattered about.
Cleanliness is something that can often be taken for granted and given the abundance of trash that the population produces on any day there must be a more cautious effort in disposal. While a majority of people know the impact, dangers, and disgustingness of not disposing of waste properly, there are still a number of people who are not diligent about waste discarding; hence the need for a park clean up. We understood that the entire population would not be drastically changed because of these little park clean-ups but we are adamant that it will have a local effect which has the ability to spread further and further. In this report I will discuss our process from idea initiation to the completion of the project covering the planning, organizing, leading, and controlling aspects of the project. Then give an assessment of the entire project and action detailing if we believed that we were
Tons of waste is put in our environment every year harming our planet. In florida alone 32,589,513 tons of waste is dumped only 13,809,704 of that was recycled in 2015.(FDEP) Many schools don't teach about the harm this does on the environment and as we continue to increase waste we need to drastically increase the amount recycled. To achieve this goal a program should be set up to Teach about reuse, reduce, and recycle. Have kids plant trees in your community or coordinate a paper drive. This program would be called Ecology day.
Through my volunteering at the Henry Hudson Trail, I now understand better the problem of littering. Before this experience,
The second service-learning experience with the DNA club was a roadside clean-up on Highway 16, near Pettibone Beach. There were 18 of us who spent 2 hours cleaning up the half-mile stretch of highway. It was amazing to see how quickly our garbage bags got full. With every piece of garbage, I picked up, I found myself becoming more and more upset. It is difficult to fathom how individuals in our society resort to throwing their garbage out of their windows, rather than recycling it or throwing it in a receptacle. Ordinarily, it doesn 't seem like a big issue, the trash can quickly accumulate on the sides of the roads. This can pose major environmental issues if wildlife such as birds, turtles, and fish eat the trash or become entangled in
We collected our minds and our project and loaded the bus ready to pour everything we know. We weren’t in the parking lot for more than a few seconds and I already saw more than twenty pieces of trash! Excitement was exploding from me. It seemed like even if you took one step forward on the beach you would miss so much trash. You would think you would be done with one area, yet you look back and it seems like the litter regenerated! A turtle fin, plastic chair and one hundred thirty six more pounds of trash later we were tired and hungry. As I was eating lunch, I examined the twelve bags we just collected. What seemed like nothing was actually everything. There was an absence of words that came from me. Now for the second part of our trip: informing the public. With our brochures and coasters in hand, my group and Mrs. Smith marched right into the first restaurant. We asked to speak to the manager of every store and restaurant we visited. One of us would explain our project goal, another would explain and handout our products. In a period of about twenty minutes we left empty handed. Everybody we had talked to thankfully accepted what we had to offer. Not only did we make a positive impact, we had fun while doing
Every citizen is responsible for helping keep Toronto clean. Keeping the grounds and sidewalks free of litter helps it stay beautiful. Not only should you avoid littering, but you should also encourage your family members and friends to avoid littering. Additionally, if you are a smoker, then you need to make sure you throw cigarette butts in the garbage can.
Our problems were litter and how animals get into trash cans. We decided on a problem when Mrs. Caylor coming around and she helped us decide on which problem we should do. The community was affected by our problem because raccoons can shatter glass and they can get into your garbage can and fall over and make everything fall out. Our solutions we considered were putting locks on both the recycle side then we made a touch pad on it in the middle.
My main goal for my project was to get the businesses and school to start recycling the cans and bottles instead of just throwing them away. I wanted the businesses and school to
Going green is a fantastic idea for Mingo Central High School because every day someone complains of how scandalous and destructive our world is. Everyone needs to come together and start ways of cleaning up the world and making it a healthier place to live. There are many trash cans around the school; therefore, it would be fantastic to have a recycling can to place all the plastic, paper, and other items that can be recycled in them. It would really be pleasant to see every student get together and clean up our school—not only for a cleaner school environment, but to save and like I said, make the world a better as well. The school could save a ton of money to buy other things needed for the classroom if everyone stepped in and helped
An evaluation assignment that was assigned is a revision of the proposing solutions essay, “Littering on Briarwood Drive.” This essay discussed three possible solutions to cleaning up a neighborhood in Laurel, Maryland. However, due to a “dull” introduction, “ineffective” paragraphs, “trite” language, weak topic sentences, and incorrect citations the argument turned out to be too weak to get a point across. Any reader of this essay would have questions about what is trying to be said in this work.
