The skills I find to be the most important in life and education are the following, and why they are important. Organization is a very important skill to have. It allows you to be more efficient and get more work done in less time. You’re able to find things that you want, it also helps when you want to impress someone. Time Management is the ability to separate the important from the unimportant, which is a much needed skill in all walks of life, especially where there are ever increasing opportunities and distractions. Problem- solving is where we all have to make decisions.

Time Management is also a good skill to have, now I have to admit I do have but I need a lot of work when it comes to time management. I am very good when it comes to my school, but put papers off till late minute. I will do outlines for the chapters ahead of time and I will do a rough draft but to sit and type a paper and go over it I will wait till last min. This is also how self- discipline fits in there because, if I had more self – discipline I would also do better with time management. I think that I am good when it comes to problem- solving. Over the years I have made a lot of decisions both large and small, school and work. Deciding between what was good for me now vs. what will be good for me in the future. This is another one that I feel my mom has helped me with when it comes to developing a problem- solving system. Last but yet one of the most important would be relationship networking. In this I believe that my mother and father had a large role in. They taught me to be social and outgoing, they had me in school sports and also at the local YMCA. When I got older, I was just a social person, and got to meet different people from different walks of life. This helped me in my school, personal and professional life. I use relationship networking now when it comes to filing paperwork and getting to meet and know the court clerks, judges, even the officers at the court houses.
I am entering the field of Criminal Justice and then plan on going to Law
Planning and organizing skills, I enjoy figuring out what is required in getting a job done and working out how and when it can be done. This can be seen in how I develop a personal study timetable and managing time around work and studies.
The course I will be taking is criminal Justice and it is a 4 year program that teaches you the law and how to preform everything from an arrest to a lawsuit. The classes this includes are Advanced Topics in
One of the most important skills that everyone should have, but isn't taught in school, is how to manage your
I know that my weak spot is time management but I am always looking and thinking of ways to help. I try to do my work as soon as it is assigned. To help improve my time management skills I have set

Another life skill that i used was was morals and vaules. I stood up for what i believed in. I thought things could be good when we ended up moving to Wyoming and thought that it could be good for me and that i would maybe learn something good from it. I thought that it could maybe have a lot of good effects could come out of
Time-management is one of my core academic and employability skills I possess. This skill allows me to prioritise effectively, which includes planning workloads, alongside arriving in a timely manner to places such as work or university. Planning my time for university workloads ' is a strength I have, as I am able to organise and prepare myself, to meet coursework deadlines within the time period
One of the most important self-management skills involves controlling and budgeting your time. Gaining control of your time and your life involves identifying time wasters and determining your peak energy level. Managing time also involves identifying goals, setting priorities, and creating an action plan. Determining what tasks should be done first and overcoming procrastination are major factors in creating success. All these steps and issues involve critical thinking skills. Use critical thinking to
There is one thing for certain in this world, everyone wants to accomplish something in life and we want to recognize our full potential. In order to do this we must have some skills, and in this case it’s life skills. Life skills are a range of characteristics we
I think the most important skill that a college level student needs is discipline. How many movies have we watched that have college students partying their college years away and then regretting it in the end. A disciplined person can make the most out of a college education. With the rising cost of a college education we need to make the most out of the time we have. The average cost in 2004-2005 of a four year private schools is $20,082 (up 6% from last year) and the average cost of a four year public school is $5,132 (up 10.5% from last year), (2004-2005 College Costs, http://www.collegeboard.com/article/0,3868,6-29-0-4494,00.html). With the rising costs of education a person needs to be disciplined to make the most out of it. All these skills, time management, critical thinking, and discipline are keys to success in college. I began my college education in 1991 and these skills are probably the three that I use the most. Time management is a skill that I have been trying to master since I began my college education. I not only need and utilize this skill for college but for my civilian job. I think being a college student has made me better at managing my time but I find I still struggle. Discipline plays a key role in time management, or at least for me it does. When I make daily lists of things to accomplish I lack the discipline to go back at the end of the day to check off things that I did accomplish.
These skills need a purpose to be prevalent, like motivation needs an ultimate end goal, so we use goal setting to figure out what our goals are and use those goals as motivation to keep our self confidence up and achieve our final goal. These skills are great, but could have been used a little differently in the
For example, my dream career is to be a pediatrician and if I want to be a pediatrician I have to be patient, generous, and loyal to my patients because if I am not patient and if I do not listen to them there might be a conflict. Dependable is one of the most important strengths out of all my strengths that my brother has mentioned. The reason why I think dependable is an important strength is because if you are going apply for anything the first thing that I will look in a person is if they are dependable and will successfully do their career without chaos. The skills that are embodied within me that my brother mentioned are quick learner, organized, active listener and leadership. These skills are beneficial towards me in many ways. For example active listening, organized, leader and quick learner will help me in any field I decide to go in and even in my daily life. Organization is one key skill that will help anyone in any field, they go in from a mechanic to a lawyer it doesn’t matter without organization skills everyday of your career life will be in
Life skills –self care skills- are the important skills or the activities which used every day in our life and these skills are : feeding ourselves , dressing , undressing , washing hands , toileting and grooming. As children grow and develop, they develop these skills through the daily routine in the home environment (Tips for developing self-care skills, n.d.).
The skills explained in the articles below help you to become reliable and effective and show you how to identify and focus on the activities that give you the greatest returns. The section finishes by explaining goal-setting, which is a vitally important skill for achieving what you want to achieve with your life.
Mahatma Gandhi once said, “The future depends on what we do in the present.” Our actions now have a major effect on the upcoming days of our life. I believe that our destiny is hand-written by no one else but ourselves. Even if one person has the desire to make a difference in the world, they will do it; and I want to be that one person. All I need is a way to find out who I am, how I learn and successful life skills to achieve my goal. Well, guess what? I have learned so many things about myself, which either need improvement or are already ethical, in just the first few weeks of Grade 8. A beneficial thing I’ve discovered to keep my life simple is to always stay on top of my work, meaning, no procrastination. This is nothing compared to what I was taught throughout these 3 weeks.
