In terms of academics it's something I have always been good at. I always have tried my best to succeed in any way possible for example in my note taking skills. I have become more better at note taking because I now know that everything the teacher has on the slides isn't important so I only write down the important things and draw pictures on the slide that will help me memorize the concept and that can help later to study. I have also become more better in communicating with my teachers and talking to them about the work and how I can help myself to get my grades up. I have also become proficient in organizing my things and knowing what comes first because before I would have a dirty backpack and if a teacher asked for an assignment
During my high school years, I can confidently say I have excelled in my academic endeavours. This success is partially due to my desire to learn. I am always intrigued by the lessons and concepts that are at the core of assigned work. My passion for learning has facilitated my learning process; because I am usually interested in the material that is being taught, my ability to retain and understand information is heightened. My academic success is also due to my drive to do the best I can. Since grade nine, I have demanded excellence from myself in all academic subjects. I strived to perform to the best of my abilities in the first high school years so that I would adopt that habit early and take it with me through the senior high school years. Finally, my academic excellence
I will be better at making goals and holding them so i can move forward in my education. I have strong communication skills and i will apply them more by actually talking with my professors rather than trying to figure out questions by myself and equipping the tutoring center rather than , again, trying to figure out my questions on my own. I will also work to stop all my procrastination tendencies and get my work done as early as i can so i don't have to worry or stress about them last
I have excelled at every subject, achieving various honors throughout my years at Bellefonte. I have challenged myself greatly by taking various engineering classes at the high school, so that I can see what is to come in my future. These courses are designed to push students outside of the normal classroom routine, making me focus on real world applications of the material. In these courses, and all of my schoolwork I strive for perfection, pushing myself to my limits to achieve it. When faced with challenges I strive to overcome them in any means necessary. I strive to have challenges in my schoolwork, so that I can push myself to solve them. I do not back away from any challenge, rather I seek for them to show myself, and others what is
Looking at how I perform at an academic level, there is no surprise to anyone that I am among the top of my class, with hard work and dedication I have fought my way to the get the spot I currently hold. To get to the spot, many challenges had to be overcome and a lot of effort had to be put in. Along the way, I discovered this helped my development into the type of student I currently am.
“Inside The Mindsets”, a chapter written by Carol Dweck, she explains that developmental outlook is taking responsibility for fundamental qualities, which can be combined through purposeful engagement. Despite the fact that individuals may vary via talents, personalities and mindsets everybody can change and develop through request and understanding. Which mean if you fail a test the first week, then you should come back the next week to figure out what you can do to improve. You should never give up on your work no matter how hard it get. Having good study habit outside of school is very important. Never waste your time in class. Always be ahead on your assignment so that you have time to give it your best effort. You should always find time to study either in your free time or after your curfew. Also make it an effort to ask your professor any questions you have on your work, or
One of my prime examples of both my academic strengths and weaknesses is my performance in math. I have received more than one C in my high school math classes. However, the highest SAT score was my math score. Another weakness I had at times throughout my years of high school was investing too much time socializing As a result, I would not spend enough time doing homework, which affected my test scores causing my grades to be lower than what I preferred. Looking back, I didn't take my classes seriously because I wasn't truly considering going to college until my junior year. Then I knew that I had to get the best grades during my last two years. That year I ended with a C in Pre-Calculus but if I had not reached out to my teachers because I felt lost in the class, stayed after school for one-one-one help, and reached out to friends that had a better understanding of the material, I probably would have failed the class. In college, I plan on strengthening my academic performance by continuing to focus and put effort into my classes, balance classes with my social life, be motivated and
Your academic performance is essentially how you do on your assignments and assessments. This is a significant part of your life because it can determine what you’ve been up to (so like if you actually pay attention in class or if you actually take the time to learn and study). Next, we have Collaboration Skills. Personally, I like to work individually, but in points of your life you are going to have to work with people whether you like them or not, so it is important that you are able to work with others professionally and not cause a hassle or raucous. The way you work with others indicates if you can stay professional in any environment (not letting people distract you and get in the way of your work). In addition to what I have explained thus far, there are a few more categories to discuss, such as on task behavior. In order to do anything well, you have to pay attention, you cannot let the disturbance or immaturity of others distract you from completing work that could possibly increase your College Readiness score. Your work ethic is very important as well. If you are one of those people who do better working at the last minute, then you need to fix it because you have to learn how to do work when it is given to you, and if you do finish your work early, then you will
Overall my academic standing has significantly improved since graduating high school. My freshman and sophomore years in high school were a greater challenge for me than my junior, senior and college years, with regard to academics.
I may have a few weaknesses, but also have a couple of good strengths when it comes to school. I am very organized when it comes to paper work and class. I normally have a folder for each class and divided by different sections. Being on time is a big strength for me. I do not like to be late. Being on time also makes me prepare for class calm and not anxious.
After the first couple of months, improvements in my school work were beginning to show, and I liked it. My vocabulary abilities were revealing themselves as well. For example, when I would read homework in other classes the words that would sometimes confuse me began to make sense. I would also listen to other people’s conversations on the street and it seemed as if the vocabulary words that I had just studied the week before, could be heard. It was the weirdest thing. Likewise, my grammar was developing nicely. For instance, when I would read books I could see the different ways sentences were portrayed. Things that I never picked up before were coming to me so much easier. This class that
By knowing more about myself and how I learn I am better able to create SMART goal. I have a better understanding of myself rather than how I vague idea on my traits and learning styles. These learning styles and traits will help me advance in my education and eventually in my career because I will use them I order to achieve my goals. I can use my sensory and sequential learning styles to study for tests and quizzes. I can build relationships with people in the classroom as well as with my teacher so that I will be comfortable asking for help from
I believe Math is learned by doing the problems and doing the homework. The problems help you learn the formulas you need to know, to help with problem solving. I have learned from my own personal experience that you must keep up with the Instructor: attend class, read the text and do homework every day. Falling a day behind puts you at a disadvantage. Falling a week behind puts you in deep trouble.
Ever since elementary school, academic success has come very easily to me; I breezed through first through eighth grades, gathering a multitude of All A Honor Roll Awards. In ninth grade, I began to have larger amounts of homework and had little time especially while juggling Lincoln Douglas Debate on top of it all.
I am dissatisfied with my memo grades. At this moment I have a 66% in this course. The memos were worth only ten points and two points were taken off for any grammatical errors. There aren't many assignments in this course. Which means there are not many chances to increase my grade. My question to you is, is there any chance that I can re-submit my two memos for a better grade? If not, what other opportunities are there that I may partake in to increase my overall
To become a success in life, we all need to learn to become a good student in every aspect of life. Becoming a good student takes much work and self-discipline. There are many ways that a student can stand out from the rest of the class. These good students are distinguished by their attitude, intellectual skills, consciousness, and achievement.
