For many generations, people used story to pass ideas from one person to another. Whether, verbal, written or draw it on a wall. Stories always have aims, entertainment or learning us about life Experiences. It’s a part of life. Stories can educate and build relationships between people and things around them. Thinks they value, respect and appreciate it. Although, it can point to negatives behaviors in a society or of a people. Story can provide the opportunity to learn from others mistake, and let the feeling and mind of reader or listener engage with story line. Which can effect on our ideas and life. But at end, can it be a novel? Candide does not meet the requirements of a novel. Understand the story and what is for can help us to classify this type of work. This kind of work belong or tendency to satire. Which is exaggerate or mocks the failings of people or societies. Its indirect satire because Voltaire allow his reader to reach the conclusion by his own view. Voltaire feeds Candide script with various stories from different levels of society. Point out to minority problems, women rights, racism and religions, and how these influence on the human live. Voltaire make Candide character facing all these problem during his journey. Some chapters represented from women point of view. Voltaire want them talk and show how their suffering in Catholic society, and they get toucher, rape and sell without been any rights or rules defense them. They may got killed without any reason or anyone ask why. Voltaire didn’t forget to appear straggles between Protestants, Catholics and Jaws. They build there relation on dirty money and positions. They may kill, sell, and buy people for entertainment. They live in big houses, full of food, and poor people live miserable life. They not work to clean the society from poor, desice and ignorance. A place require from candide and his friend to work to live. A Garden, that need from her owner to work hard, rather than thinking on philosophy. Using his hands to planting and take care of it. Simple, What you planting is what you will collect later. Garden here is a symbolic. A plot of a land. Candide here give a senesce of ignoring his tutor. A tutor, one day he was look at him as “A Great Philosopher”. His philosophy became useless. His words without meaning for candide. Pangloss didn’t change after this long journey. Optimism become here something from the past for candide. It remind candide of his decisions that lead him to this situation, and his failed to success on anything in his enter journey. Any time Pangloss want to open discussion about optimism, candide interrupting him, and tell him “We must cultivate our garden” or “let’s cultivate our garden”. These words, appear what candide had become. His is a gardener. A man work to cultivate his garden to live. There is no space in his mind and life for optimism.
