It is said that “Time and Tide waits for none”. As an upcoming college freshman I need to understand the value of time to succeed in life. I have to understand that everything needs to be prioritized no matter the case. That being able to manage my time correctly will teach me discipline which is exactly what I need to get through college with the goals I have set for myself. Individuals who stick to a time plan are more likely the people who realize their goals and objectives within the shortest possible time span. This will help me get my work done before the deadline instead of working on it the night before.

This piece of reflection will focus on my progress and experiences during my placement in Campbelltown Hospital Medical E ward. I will be using the Gibbs 1988 model of reflection (Gibbs, 1988). The standard way of thinking about time has it that one should always use their time wisely. Therefore, they’ve been a few stories that depict and describe how to and which way to manage time. From The Tyranny of the Clock by George Woodcock, to The “Busy” Trap by Tim Kreider, and How to Live on 24 Hour a Day by Arnold Bennett, all in a way or ways describe how one can use his or her time properly. However, if one were to contrast these three stories, they would find that George Woodcock and Tim Kreider have more in common, then Arnold Bennett.

Anyone who commits to furthering their education while continuing to work will definitely encounter many stressors and obstacles in balancing their daily life. Time management is a critical component in juggling the demands of work, home life, continuing education, and finding me time. Even though there may be very little an individual can actually do with regards to time management in the workplace, outside of work is a different story. While each person’s individual situation will discern what and when time management tools are utilized, it is imperative that a variety of options are tried out to find those that work best. I personally have found that a combination of meal planning and preparation, to-do lists, and help from my family to be indispensable weapons in conquering time management difficulties. The use of these three tools has greatly afforded me more wiggle room to fit in any unexpected obstacle that may come my way.
I have poor attitudes towards managing time, such as managing time to study. Developing effective study habits is important as they will help me to use my study time more productively and will also help to handle stress. Therefore, learning some effective memory techniques, developing a good support network and working with other class members will enhance our study habits (Anthony, 2012). So it is important for me to make an action plan about time
When I first evaluated myself in the study skill academic test, time management was my weakest skill overall. This was priority in terms of skill development because I would always leave things till the last minute and stress myself out trying to turn in things on time. In order to improve this I made a smart goal to carry out in the beginning of the year. Now after some time, the results of my progression are shown. My smart goal that I created for myself regarding my time management planned out very well, I was able to successfully accomplish a majority of my assignments on time. I would review the material of the week on Monday’s and compile all of the assignments due for the week. The monthly calendar was also a key factor in helping me keep up to date in the month so see what where upcoming tasks the following week. If I needed more clarification on certain tasks then I would login and check the syllabus.
I write this clear and concise reflection to identify and evaluate an academic problem that I feel is negatively impacting my studies which is time management; otherwise, I find lot of difficulty to manage my time.
Before we can manage our time we must know exactly what time is. The dictionary describes it as, the duration of one's life; the hours and days which a person has at his disposal. How we dispose of that time is time management. It's the way we spend our time to organize and execute around our priorities. Remember just because time is intangible doesn't mean that it is not valuable. I want to teach you about the background of time management, the different styles and how to use them, and how it will change your life.
