Industrial Engineers serve as a bridge between management and operations. They combine their solid engineering background with good business sense and management ability. They figure out the best use of facilities, equipment and people for the most cost efficient and productive way to make or process a product. Industrial Engineers concentrate on improving manufacturing productivity and reducing costs associated with inventory. They are also concerned with worker safety and work environment.
In order to be any engineer, you must love math, science and solving problems. Whether it's figuring out how to erect a structurally sound

Engineers have a hand in all phases of development, from idea conception, design and development, implementation and testing to customer support. Industrial engineers have many responsibilities; one is to increasing productivity through their management skill. With there skill they manage people, methods of business organization, and technology than are engineers in other specialties. They generally work more with products or processes.
Another responsibilit of Industrial Engineers are the understanding of ergonomics and consider how the machines and work environment affect the worker. They must attack the problem by breaking it down into small, independent parts. They design workstations to reduce fatigue and prevent discomfort and work related injuries. They check the fit of chairs, the placement of equipment,
Industrial Engineers depend upon many resources, such as computers, CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) and computer simulation to figure out the best methods for production, distribution, equipment, and transportation. They may also be responsible for quality control and inventory. They consider handling and storage of incoming material, and set inventory size, as well as packaging and shipping methods. Industrial Engineers must have good people and commutation skill. They spend much of their time asking questions. They
The profession of mechanical engineering is a broad discipline of engineering. Mechanical engineers research, design, develop, build, and test mechanical and thermal sensors and devices, including tools, engines, and machines. The duties in this career typically include: analyzing problems to see how mechanical and thermal devices might help solve a problem, designing, or redesigning mechanical and thermal devices or subsystems (a set of interconnected systems), using analysis and computer-aided design, developing and testing prototypes of devices they design, analyzing the test results and changing the design or system as needed, and overseeing the manufacturing process for the device. The designing and testing of the various devices shows the
This is a very important skill to have because when designing a blueprint for something the employee could run into many difficulties that may not be the easiest thing to fix and that employee would need to come up with a solution while also staying in the specific guidelines for the project. So like I previously stated Drafting technology is a very broad description of a career field that has many sub categories within it like: architectural, civil, electrical, and mechanical drafting. Civil engineering is exactly what it sounds like this sub field focuses on the thing that deal with the civil life for example they are the engineers that build bridges and buildings. Just like civil engineers is self explanatory so is Electrical Engineering the engineers of the field focus on everything that deals with electronics, this can range in difficulty from designing the motherboard of a computer to designing a cell phone. The final sub field is Mechanical Engineer, this group designs a variety of objects that can be as simple as a single part like a bolt to the most confusing and complex assemblies like a refrigerator. Even though all of these sub fields have different job focuses they all have the same amount of income with a range from $121,000 to $126,000. The lowest paying sub field is the Mechanical Engineers with a Civil Engineer being on the higher end of the
Job roles: In work experience you will have a better view of how different engineering sectors work and what’s their role in engineering, that would help you to find yourself in that one you interested in and choosing your future career in engineering world.
My education and work experience have been great preparation for a career in this field. Engineering, by nature, requires strong analytical and problem solving skills. Even outside the classroom, I have learned to look at a situation and break it down systematically. Sometimes when a direct solution is not possible, an optimal alternative or repurpose is appropriate. For example, I worked
Industrial Equipment INC. sold and serviced a variety of industrial equipment and related products to hospitals, nursing homes, hotels, motels and various other organizations in the four Atlantic Canadian provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI and Newfoundland/Labrador. In addition to distributing a broad line of specialized equipment IE provided design, specification and planning assistance to architects,
Industrial robots - Industrial robots are robots used in an industrial manufacturing environment. Usually, these are articulated arms specifically developed for such applications as welding, material handling, painting and others. If we judge purely by application this type could also include some automated guided vehicles and other robots.
The industrial revolution was when changes in agriculture, manufacturing, work ethics, transportation and technology became more advanced. The revolution made social economics and culture prosper. This spread during the 18th and 19th century in Europe. Europe was the first place to start this revolution because it had the resources to advance technology and it was politically stable. Most people made a living in small towns and were farmers. A large amount of people at the time were poor, and malnourished, disease was also a common issue to encounter. The European industrial revolution changed this and nearly every aspect of daily life was impacted in some way. The revolution was so successful that it influenced another one.
An engineer is required to have an adapt knowledge of all the the equipment available and the best application for them. This includes being able to use equipment such as power amplifiers, various consoles, patch bays, speakers and foldbacks, microphones, compressors, gate equalisers and FX(reverb, delay, chorus).
The Industrial Revolution changed the ways by how the world produced its goods. It was the era when the use of power-driven machines was developed. It also changed our societies from a mainly agricultural society to one in which industry and manufacturing was in control. This had many effects on people’s lives.
Industrial psychology is concerned with people at work. It is also called personnel psychology. A closely related field is known as organizational psychology. Traditionally, industrial psychologists have assessed differences among individual workers and have evaluated individual jobs. Organizational psychologists generally seek to understand how workers function in an organization, and how the organization functions in society.
Many engineers work in laboratories, industrial plants, or construction sites where they inspect, supervise, or solve onsite problems. (Britannica 244) Engineering itself has a sort of chain of command in the way a project is handled. It follows in the
Engineering is an exciting field that I believe will be enjoyable, challenging, and above all, intuiting to undertake at university. I believe pursuing engineering means exceeding your expectations and making a
Engineer combines the field of science and math to solve real world problems to make it a better place (Google Definition). Engineering is a diverse field of work there are many disciplines within engineering that can involve the application of a very different body of knowledge and skills (2012 Project Lead The Way, Inc. IED Activity 1.5Discover Engineering-page1). There are a lot of disciplines within engineering, naming all is too much, the most common engineer discipline are civil, chemical, electrical, and mechanical engineering.
I have also got the chance to get a lot of insight into the processes of casting and welding. In my final year I took Production Planning and Control & Maintenance Engineering as my elective so that I could get initiated into the field. I got to know the basic operations of different mechanical systems of the automobile like the I.C. engine, brakes, clutches, powertrain, transmission and differentials. A Master’s degree would allow me to delve deeper into individual aspects of Industrial Engineering by studying and examining them in greater detail and gain practical experience by way of relevant internships. Hence Master’s in Industrial Engineering became an obvious necessity.
As mentioned above, it is very important for engineers to understand their own responsibilities. In 1960, the Conference of Engineering Societies of Western Europe and the United States of America defined "professional engineer" as follows:1 “A professional engineer is competent by virtue of his/her fundamental education and training to apply the scientific method and outlook to the analysis
