Hello from CCA,
Thank you for your interest in St. John’s University’s Chinese Cultural Association.
The goal of CCA is to keep in touch with cultural traditions while meeting new people and having great experiences!
Throughout the year we will host, as well as co-host many events around campus. In past years we have done an outdoor activities day, an off campus barbeque, movie nights, singing competitions, dance performances, skits, and much more!
As you may or may not have known, CCA is part of a larger Organization called the “Asian Allies”, which is the conglomeration of many of the Asian oriented organizations on campus. Being a part of this larger organization allows us to host many events, not just with CCA members, but with members from other cultural organizations as well.
Joining the Chinese Cultural Association is a great way to connect with many people with similar interests. Remember, you do not have to be of Chinese decent to join CCA; our organization is open to anyone who enjoys Chinese culture!
As a reminder, our First General Body Meeting will be held next Thursday the 17th during Common Hour (1:50-3:15) in Marrilac Hall, Room 317. At this meeting you will be

This year the Chicagoland EAA Chapter Leaders' Summit had it's 5th meeting. The idea came out sprung out of an event that EAA Chapter 790 had to finish the Poker Run we had run during the summer of 2012. We discussed at the wind down how it would be great to get the leaders together and put our chapter events together on one schedule for all to see.
Last May, I traveled with Alternative Breaks to New York for community service. During this service, I worked with Meals on Wheels who dedicate their time to provide food for the elderly of Manhattan. As I delivered the food to the seniors, I got a sense of fulfillment because I made them smile by providing them with food. Thus, I chose MDC’s Single Stop because I wanted to make a difference in my home campus by providing and assuring nourishment to those that do not have it just like I did in New York. As my first two years of college comes to an end, I wanted to leave a mark of my own here at home at Miami Dade College North Campus. During the month of September, I decided to partner up with a few of my peers to serve at MDC’s Single Stop.

Medication errors are among the most significant cause of patient injury in all types of medical errors (Johnson, Carlson, Tucker, & Willette, n.d). In the nursing profession, medication administration errors occur 34% of the time, second only to physician ordering errors (Gooder, 2011). The introduction of information technology, such as the Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA), offers new opportunities for reducing medication administration errors. BCMA was developed by the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in 1998 to help improve the documentation of medication administration, decrease medication errors and provide
My position as Conference Chair was my first large responsibility in college. This position developed my interpersonal and team working skills; it also instilled the importance of time management and organizational habits. Through the inspiration of my peers, I became committed to bring creativity and innovation to all events that I planned. This position allowed me to explore my passion of minority advocacy though the Asian/Asian American population and serve as a catalyst for the promotion of education and awareness of Asian history and culture. Our greatest accomplishment was the development and passing of the Asian American Studies Minor at the University of Florida. Our first step was garnering support from the community through assembling a committee of students and faculty, and created
As the appearance of Asian American students on college campuses become more prominent, the need for cultural competence and inclusiveness is higher than ever. Being aware and knowledgeable about the matters in the Asian American community can provide these students with well-equipped tools to help them succeed in higher education.

The event I would look strongly at would be on the 28th of February because both South Dakota Coyotes Basketball team will be playing on that day. The main sponsor of the day would State Farm as they look to get more attention in little town Vermillion. As the last game of the season in the Sanford Coyotes Sport Complex, the theme of the night is the battle of the Seniors, also known as Senior night. Many people look at the SCSC as a great sporting arena for the students, but few people realize that the crowd has a lot of older fans too. With Senior night for the players, Senior night for older fans will be in full effect. Seniors (aged 65+) will have access to buy five tickets, get two free for any fall sport next year. With admissions to access to

Making friends in the Latino(a) community is the best part. Helping each other with problems within our understanding about the minority issues we all face as a whole and individually is emotionally and physically draining. It is great to know others feel the same way you do and want to make just as much as a difference, in representing ourselves with pride as the latino(a) community. Many of us gathered to form a class in our school designed to educate about the culture, history, and origins of the Mexican-American, Latino(a), hispanic, Mexican, chicano(a), and however other minorities identify themselves as. Many have joined hoping to learn about the civilizations, societies, traditions, cultures, and heritage this course has to offer to enlighten their minds of the Latino(a) community.
The four short years that people spend in college can be some of the best years of their lives. Meeting new people, learning new things, and getting involved in clubs all contribute to this. Although these years can be great, they also have the ability to damage our lives forever. Many students fall victim to peer pressure, which occurs when a person or certain group of people tries to force an individual to conform to how that person or group acts. Peer pressure can affect college students physically, mentally, and socially. I feel as though this issue should be addressed much more when it comes to college life.
