The earth is a beautiful and extraordinary planet, but are we treating it right? For the past 20 decades, temperatures have been rising along with hundreds of factors contributing to it. Climate change concerns the public as they wonder if its occurring, how much has occurred in the modern era, what has caused it, what the effects will be if we don’t do anything about it and much more. Many people and scientist agree that mankind is the number one cause of climate change. Humans have influenced this by greenhouse gases, methane nitrous oxide.
Scientific evidence suggests that human activity like agriculture, urbanization and industrialization have influenced climate change. Clearing land and building cities up for agriculture results in changing the climate. This is because the population is increasing rapidly and the demand to use fossil fuels in our everyday life is also increasing. Increasing use for fossil fuels, industrialization and deforestation has a huge impact on the climate. Enhanced greenhouse gases are an increase in natural greenhouse gases impacted by mankind. The major cause of greenhouse gases is the increase in carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide being released in the atmosphere. If greenhouse gases continue to be produced at the same rate as it did in 2000, then there will be a 0.1-degree change in temperature per decade. This isn’t likely to happen though because of the dramatic need for fossil fuel.
Fourth assessment report of the
More than half of the increase in carbon dioxide in the past 100 years is because of human activity. (Burning fossil fuels) In 2010, carbon dioxide levels were higher than they have been in over 650,000 years. The CO2 levels are the cause for the increase of the Earth’s temperature. Greenhouse gases produced by humans will continue to cause climate change in the atmosphere because carbon sinks cannot absorb all of them. Carbon sinks, in 2009, were only absorbing about half of the human produced greenhouse gases, while the other half remained in the atmosphere. According to computer models, increased levels of human produced greenhouse gases will cause global warming and other climate changes. Although the models are not certain of how much warming will occur/how the climate will be affected, they all
concerned of the effects climate change could have on the world. There is so much evidence that climate change exist so we need to find a way to stop climate change so the effects of climate change won’t happen. We soon learned that the cause of climate change could have been through greenhouse gases. There are different types of greenhouse gases, but the one we’re going to talk about is carbon dioxide. Greenhouse gases (which are located below the atmosphere) are gases that allow light from the sun to pass through the gases and some light/heat back out into space, but a certain amount of light gets trapped on the earth. This is called the greenhouse effect.
Global climate change, something that most people in the world are not taking as seriously as they should. Many people believe that climate change is a phenomenon; a conspiracy theory to engage people into spending more money. When the world became industrialized, we lost our way on protecting our Earth, our only planet. Industrialization is why our environment is in critical condition. Advocating and government officials are necessary for a decrease of Greenhouse Gas emissions into our atmosphere. For our environment to thrive, changes need to happen and they can begin with yourself.
Climate change has been gaining momentum for some time now and it has become popular enough to start mass debates. Climate scientists are pushing as hard as they can to spread awareness and it has become a topic of interest because of the way it can affect all of us. In this introduction of the book, Climate Change: What It Means For Us, Our Children, and Our Grandchildren, Joseph F. C. DiMento and Pamela Doughman try to convince the general public that understanding climate change is crucial and although climate change may seem challenging to grasp, it is understandable with some effort. As a hook, the authors begin with subclaims supporting the two main parts of the main claim, climate change is important to understand and it is understandable, to allow the reader to know what content will be shared by the book. The subclaims are supported effectively by evidences referring to factual data and alluding to popular culture relevant to the audience. Even the conflicting viewpoints are acknowledged and analyzed to show why the author's perspective is more logical.
Everyone talks about climate change and how the Earth is slowly deteriorating, but no one seems to have specific examples. In Linnea Saukko’s “How to Poison the Earth,” she does use specific examples of what is causing climate change. She uses satire with a hint of sarcasm in her essay. She gives the reader specific examples of how to poison the Earth, but not really wanting to poison the Earth. Gretel Ehrlich writes her essay, “Chronicles of Ice,” a little differently. She uses personal experiences of visiting a glacier and the way that it is falling apart to explain climate change. She uses detailed, sensory description to explain
Climate change is something that affects us all as a human race, and we need to do something about it immediately. Ultimately, climate change is dangerous and upon us more than we realize. While there are some individuals who don't believe it exists at all, there are some who simply believe it is not caused by humans on this planet. My goal for this paper is to make aware the dangers that climate change poses to our planet and the human race. While doing this, I hope to provide fact-based evidence that supports the claim that we, as humans, cause the dangerous phenomena that is climate change and that we need to change our course of action before it is too late.
“Scientists’ overwhelming conclusion is that climate change is happening and human activity is the primary culprit,” (“Climate Change”). The world we live in is falling apart more and more every day. Pollution; Global Warming; Climate Change; These are all problems that caused by people who have come forward in recent years, one of the biggest issues is climate change. The United States government needs to take aggressive steps to combat climate change because scientist have warned that if the climate changing progresses at its current rate, it could have disastrous consequences for life on Earth. Data shows that climate change is linked to rising sea levels, droughts, an increase in the risk of extinction of many species, and the increase in severe storms. With all the issues that are connected to climate change we are not doing enough to try to counteract the lasting effects it has on our environment.
As Earths average temperature increases every year, the discussion of climate change has become a significant topic in the scientific community. Human activities such as powering factories, running automobiles or something as simple as burning wood for heat, emit dangerous greenhouse gases. What makes these greenhouse gases so detrimental is that they absorb the heat radiating off of Earth and keep it in the lower atmosphere creating a “blanket” of warmth around the Earth’s surface. This causes a drastic increase in the Earths average temperature. Due to the rise in temperature, the polar caps have been melting faster than ever, this is dangerous not only because of the risk of floods and sea level increase but ocean water will become less saline and ecosystems will be destroyed, impacting humans just as much as marine life. In the article, Understand faulty thinking to tackle climate change by George Marshall, Marshall states that most people in our world today do not care about climate change because it will not affect them, “Which points to the real problem: climate change is exceptionally amorphous, … no deadlines, no geographic location, no single cause or solution.” (Marshall 2014). Because the author makes it clear that climate change is indeed a great plight, and fails to be acknowledged by people, it is a significant matter that should be discussed
“There’s one issue that will define the contours of this century more dramatically than any other, and that is the urgent threat of a changing climate.” - Barack Obama. Climate change has been a popular topic of discussion for years now, because of the threat to our environment. The world will forever be changed if climate change isn’t taken into serious consideration and not in a good way. Climate change has had many negative effects, for example, damage to coral reefs, the increase of wildfires, and most importantly rising sea levels. Climate change is happening now and action should be taken now to stop it. The damage to our earth cannot always be undone as well as making some places disappear forever.
In the past few years, the issue of Climate Change has been introduced as an new and upcoming problem for modern leaders. There are many people who think Climate Change is a hoax, but at the same time there are many people who thinks it is the real deal. I am here to tell you that Climate Change is real and a very big problem. First off, Climate Change describes the increase level of greenhouse gases and the increase of temperature of the Earth overtime. In recent years temperatures in many areas have reached the highest they have ever been, and temperatures look to continue to rise.
Did you know that the United States is the second largest contributor of CO2, and the less concerned about it? Climate change has been a problem for decades, but just recently we start to see how big of a problem climate change is, and can be. Climate change is one of the biggest problems that we are facing right now, even if keep trying to act like is nothing. Everybody, the people, the government, and big companies are a big contributor of this phenomenon. The more we keep denying its effects, the more we are going to regret it later, and going to wish that we could go back and try to fix the issue. You going to know one day, and its going to be late. Climate change should be the U.S government main focus this decade and the ones to come. Climate change can affect a country in every way economically, destroyed …., cause a lot of deaths.
"But Jc we can make this work. We. We were meant to be, I mean thats everyone says.
The data of the Table: 4.1 specifies the total respondents into three categories, where 72 percent people in Jessore district and 46 percent people in Mymensingh district were agree about climate change.
Rainfall and temperature are the main parameters to measure the climate in a region. These two variables were studied in detail for the Arabian Peninsula as well as for Saudi Arabia (Elagib and Mansell, 2000; Lazaro et al., 2001; Moonen et al., 2002; Islam et al., 2010). It is worth mentioning that, the frequencies of rainfall intensity are significantly required for several engineering purposes; one of them is the estimation of extreme floods. Besides, rainfall data can be identified by three parameters; frequency, duration, and either mean intensity or depth. The rainfall event frequency is usually expressed by its return period or recurrence interval. Many researches relevant to climate change and
Climate Change has impacted the earth in all areas, from research scientists have done over the years. Carbon dioxide is the most leading source of pollution that impacts the atmosphere and many “scientists believe it would require only a small increase in the total amount of carbon dioxide present in the atmosphere to produce a significant increase in average global temperature. Increases in global temperatures over recent decades appear to be related to increasing levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide stemming from human industrial activity” (Renneboog). The humans have produced 38.2 billion tons of carbon dioxide from factories and automobiles. Humans have added about 3.4% of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere within the last year, this increase of CO2 in the air has increased the Earth’s temperature about 1.2 degrees since 1900 and scientists think in the next century the temperature will be around 10.4 degrees, this might seem
