Far away, in the distant land of America, a phenomenal little TV show is taking the nation by storm. The show? Parks and Recreation. Also know as Parks and Rec, also known as just Parks! Now, if you google Parks and Recreation, you will most likely come across various different small town's parks and recreation departments. After perusing these for all of two minutes, you'll come across the Wikipedia page for Parks and Recreation. Often described as "the little show that could", Parks and Rec had a rocky start, beginning with a mediocre first season, but really coming into its own during the second season. But, what is Parks and Recreation about, I hear you ask. Is it just about parks? And Recreation? Short answer: no. Long answer: yes, but not really. Let me explain. Parks and Rec is a comedy about a mid-level bureaucrat living in the small town of Pawnee, Indiana, who tries to climb up the political ladder while having to deal with many roadblocks along the way. Sounds pretty boring, right? But, not when I tell you that the characters include a government worker who is a libertarian and couldn't care less about anything to do with the government, a young woman who is so apathetic that the world could come crumbling down around her and she wouldn't even care and a man who always messes up so spectacularly that his name is often used as a …show more content…
This format really allows you to get close to the characters, whether it's through talking heads (where the character talks straight into the camera), walk-and-talks (where the characters walk... and talk) or the many glances towards the camera (this one is pretty self-explanatory). It also allows for there to be a huge amount of humour on the show, which is quite essential for a comedy. And since so many of the cast come from an improvisational comedy background, watching Parks and Rec is like hosting your own personal comedy
3. What price should Laflin offer? What conditions should be attached to his offer? How might Lonestar try to justify a higher price? What might Southpark IV be worth in five years?
With a lower purchase price and a large expectation of growth from NOI, Laflin could make
The show Friday Night Lights gives viewers an inside look into the lives of high school football players of a small town in Texas. The show is astonishing on many levels, from it's unique camera styles to the complex characters. Many people usually dismiss athletes as dull characters and some think of sports as something pointless or shallow. The show disproves these thoughts by giving viewers a perspective into the lives of the players, coaches, and fans of the Dillon Panthers football team. This show ultimately builds empathy for the lives of the football players in the show, which helps in understanding real life athletes and their coaches.

Have you ever thought you understood something? Until you dig a little deeper and realize something has always been there right in front of your face and never realized it? Like little inside jokes and playing tri blue from where you started. I had a party in my backyard with a few close friends, singing to K-pop, or Korean music. My Korean friend proceeded to laugh when someone was trying to sing a song lyric in Korean, or at least her version of the song. The translation to what my friend was singing was “Cats and almonds and I’m going to eat your face, two very different lines then the song lyrics themselves. Our new inside joke is “Cats and Almonds” However in cinema and amusement parks, we call these ‘inside jokes’ “easter eggs”. Whether they were created because of a challenge, or simply a memorial to remember where the creators started from, these inside jokes can be found everywhere in Disney. First, we will be revealing the easter eggs important to the people behind the magic. Second, we will find the secret meaning of the, oh I can’t find it... hidden mickeys and finally the movie connection easter eggs that have sparked many Disney theories.
Slavery was first introduced in the United States in Jamestown, Virginia in 1619 and became an integral part of American society for many years. Ira Berlin says that “[A]ny attempt to address the question of race in the present must also address slavery in the past.” This in fact is true as we must be able to understand years and years of different viewpoints and ideas to come to an educated conclusion as to why it began and continued to exist. Racism is still a hot discussion topic in the modern world with constant reminders that there is still tension. The biggest reason racism is the way it is today is due to slavery and its conflict in the United States. The popular show Friday Night Lights has an episode in which race is addressed. One
Sustaining the ambitions of not only themselves but the alumni and town of Odessa, Texas is a lot to ask from a young adult. That’s exactly what Permian football provides to the people of Odessa, where the post economic boom of the oil business has left the town in a racially tense, economic crisis. The lights on Permian High School’s football field are the only sanctuary for the west Texas town. Socially and racially divided, Odessa’s mass dependence on high school football constructs glorified expectations for the football team to temporarily disguise the disappointments that come with living in a town tagged as the “murder capital” of
Now this is a story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down, and I’d like to take a minute, just sit right there, I’ll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-air. These are the opening lines to the intro song of the television comedy “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”, that me and every 90’s kids with a TV has had memorized since the day we first heard it. Even as you read that first sentence, you can’t help but to rap the words, and hum the tune as you envision a young Will Smith spinning on his royal chair with the graffiti background. The effect of the lyrics and the music video to this intro song goes way beyond pure entertainment value. The music video and lyrics spread happiness,

The characters usually have a lot more to say and humour comes just from the dialogue instead of actions. However, in Friends, a couple of the characters are actually portrayed as being very childlike and the humour is much more slapstick and easy to understand because of this. Also the lines given to the characters are much shorter which means each character has something to say in one scene and some of the humour heavily relies on the actions of the characters as well. These short lines make it easier for the viewer to settle into the programme from the beginning. There
A show about a seemingly normal family might not be a show that doesn't catch a lot of viewer's attention. I have to disagree because Family Guy is one of my favourite televsion shows, and i rarely watch TV. Family Guy is comedy based off a normal middle class family, but like all families they have their problems that can be very strange. I admire shows that are different than any other shows that are out there. I find the show to be very interesting for various reasons such as their use of stereotypes, violence, and its slight case of predictibility which is why I love the "Patriot Games" episode.

Family guy is a dysfunctional family that lives in Quahog, Rhode Island. The parents: Peter and Lois. The children: the oldest, Meg, the middle child, Chris and the baby is Stewie. Last but not least, the dog Brian. This TV show exhibits crude, adult humour. There are many different opinions on this show, many parents are ok with letting there children watch it and other refuse to do so because of the kind of humour some parents are on edge. So is family guy a negative influence on children? I believe it does have a negative influence on kids. To start the language they use, secondly the violence and actions towards each other and
Is High School football a sport, or is it more than that to some people? Recent newspaper headlines include such items as coaches abusing student athletes; fathers of athletes murdering coaches, and mother’s disabilitating cheerleading candidates to assure their daughters make the cheerleading team.
