Just in time for International Yoga Day—yoga classes will now be offered in the sky. Classes held aboard the High Roller observation wheel in Las Vegas take the term “yoga high” to a whole new level. A level of 550 feet up in the sky, to be exact. While one might not typically associate a moment of peace, and zen, with Sin City... You can now find your zen among fellow yogis in one of the 28 pod-style cabins on the world's largest ferris wheel. Adding another interesting variable to the already intriguing yoga-in-the-sky practice, these classes will be taught with “Silent Savasana.” This will truly be a practice where your senses are highly engaged—both from the sights, and the sounds. According to Review Journal, silent Savasana is “a
Before landing myself in Yoga Sunné’s studio in Cottonwood Heights, I had scheduled myself for several different yoga studios across the valley. I never went to any of them, because I scheduled classes titled “rejuvenating” or “relaxing” in the morning and then promptly slept through all of them. I found that Yoga Sunné offered a free class at night, and that is how I found out that 90 minutes of hot power yoga is not for me.
I thought that Silent Ears, Silent Heart was an excellent book. It really gave you a full prospective of what a family and a person has to go through living a life without being able to hear sound it also helps you realize what someone has to go through that can’t hear what is going on around them. The book starts off with a couple named the Clines there’s Mr. Cline who is Jack who runs his own multimillion dollar business in a glass production. His dream is to have his son at his side and follow in his footsteps and run the family business someday. Then there’s Mrs. Cline who is Margret who is a stay at home wife that is waiting the arrival of their child.
This yoga is centered around total “devotion through love” to God. It stresses the expression of this devotion through actions such as dancing, singing, shouting, and the use of objects such candles and incense. In the Islam religion, all these aspects are depicted. Observance of just one service at a Mosque would prove this.

The class attended for my Participant Observation Assignment was a forty-five minute yoga class at the Rowan University Recreation Center. During the class, the instructor demonstrated beginner yoga moves for participants to follow. The nature of the class comprised of slow, relaxing music while we performed these yoga moves, and was a very positive setting. The learning theories that were applied by the instructor to accomplish the moves were Bandura’s Observational Learning, B.F. Skinner’s Operant Conditioning and Direct Instruction Approach.
When most Americans hear the word 'yoga', they think of a petite girl in a ponytail and leggings, carrying her purple yoga mat. This image has become so completely part of the culture of American yoga that the general response when suggesting yoga as a training method is either "That's for girls," or "But I'm not flexible." These responses were generated by an overall ignorance regarding yoga as a practice. Imagine, for a moment, a very large and muscular man with the soles of his feet together on the ground in butterfly pose. Now imagine that one man in a large room with twenty men much like him in the same yoga position. A scene like this is the new normal;

San Francisco has a thriving yoga community with plenty of opportunities for travelers looking to flow. Yoga to the People is a completely donation based studio in Mission District, one of my favorite locations in San Francisco. The studio has a community feel with one large room that can accommodate nearly fifty students. On the fifth floor, the large windows have a fantastic view of the city and during class students can watch flocks of birds soaring by. With classes all day from 7am to 9pm this studio accommodates all types of schedules. There are even candlelit classes on weekend nights. The classes focus on each individual student connecting to their own breath. The instructors will run the class through a sequence and then prompt the students to repeat the sequence flowing with their own breath. This studio also has yoga mats available for rent and water for purchase.

Public communication is very important when in a discussion with coworkers and such. The one weakness that some people run into is silence. The spiral of silence theory by Elisabeth Noelle-Neumann explains why certain people fall under the pressure and seclude to silence. Silence may not always be a bad thing, but according to a study by Lucy J. MacGregor, the fact is that silence during a speech or conversation is absolutely bad. With this, silence while talking to a large group negatively affects the listeners in a way in which some words in the speech will not be remembered. The point is that silence tends to destroy people’s speeches. Words are forgotten in the speech; Loss of the attention by the listeners happens and the
The benefits of Yoga are endless. It effects the human mind and body in a variety of ways. Roughly 15 million Americans practice yoga, annually there is an expected increase of twenty percent in participants in the United States ("Yoga Statistics"). While Yoga is often thought of as a practice that involves circus like poses and seemingly impossible flexibility; it not. Even bedridden patients can gain benefit from imagining themselves going through the poses and practicing breathing techniques that are appropriate to them (Dickenson 24-25). Yoga is not something that you do at the studio and leave behind. It becomes a way of life; leading to healthier habits, improving psychological health, and encouraging spiritual growth.
