Superheroes are so popular in our American culture due to how we are inspired to overcome obstacles in life and learn lessons from them. Ever since 9-11 many people looked for an escape from the tragedy which occured on 9-11. Superheroes were the escape,

Directions: Choose an element from the list and create a superhero profile. On the next page, you will design a superhero and create a tagline that embodies the characteristics of your element, including the atomic number, symbol, and name. On the page following that, you will tell the origin story of your element. Be creative when telling your element’s story, which may be told in any format you wish, such as a myth or cartoon. A superhero sidekick or nemesis may also be included but you must choose an element that either combines well or has a violent reaction with your chosen element. A rubric for this activity is included at the end of this worksheet.
When it comes to superheroes, most of them have costumes, nickname, and certain powers that make them unique. The Google definitions of the term “superhero” is “fictional characters with superhuman powers.” In today’s world, there are superheroes who do not have superhuman abilities but use human materials to fight crime. Are those with natural abilities denied the title of a “superhero?”
History has showed society that even though having a white super hero is very much the norm for everybody growing up, but black super heroes aren 't given exposure to society. They are viewed as criminals for doing absolutely nothing to the unjust system. Now more recently African Americans having been targeted more than ever, and for a very long time African Americans have been racial profiled as thugs.
I love comics, especially superhero comics. I have been in love with them since I was seven, when my uncle introduced me to Superman and Batman. I was just so mesmerized by the plot, even if it was repetitive, I was so intrigued that I couldn’t stop. You know the plot, the one where a victim or victims are distressed and the hero swoops in at the right time to save them from any danger. Growing up though, as life got more complicated, so did comics. It wasn’t the same old plot anymore. More casualties occurred in the stories, heroes developed more weaknesses. It was as if the comic book creators were trying to make the readers realize that superheroes and an regular person are not so far apart. I will never be able to see it that way though. Why you ask? It’s because unlike a regular person, superheroes will never be a reality. No one will swoop in to save you in your time of need. The only person that can protect you, is yourself. If you are able to do that, maybe the next step is to protect people that can’t protect themselves.
In the world of superheroes, there are numerous that believe they are heroes, while in actuality, they are merely vigilantes. This is demonstrated throughout the world of superheroes, but it is not as prominently demonstrated as in Batman. Batman presents himself as a hero, while he is only an over imaginative vigilante. He is more a vigilante than a hero since he has the ability to stop crime, but doesn’t, he only does deeds for his own benefit, and he helps the law but isn’t part of it. These are only a few ways Batman is a vigilante, rather than a hero. These are mainly based upon the idea of him trying to right his own past.
Nearly all heroes are faced with a variety of inconceivable tasks which in turn help to overcome obstacles that the character may face. In Spider-Man, Peter Parker is forced to overcome these impediments so that he can help protect the people in his city. The task that first illustrates this quest is Spider-Man’s revenge on the man who killed his uncle and committed robbery. To catch this criminal, though, Spider-Man has to learn how to use his mind: thinking quickly and on-the-spot. Not only does it take courage for Spider-Man to defeat this criminal, it takes quick reflexes that only his “spidey senses” can offer him. In the end, Spider-Man tricks the man and is successful in turning him into the police. Another example of a
An archetype is an universal theme or pattern in literature, television, and character. One of today's archetypes is superheroes. They all tend to start from a tragic, usually family death, background, but somehow they constantly want to ameliorate the world. Then at some point, they will discover a gift they have and use their inhuman powers towards the benefit of humanity. However, they all have a weakness that reminds them that they are human. They will learn to cope with their problems and eventually overcome it. My example of this archetype is Supergirl on the CW. Her family dies on Krypton, when it explodes, but sends her to Earth to take care of her cousin (Superman). Because he was already Superman when she arrived, she had

Opening the interview with elementary school children in Hanoi is the question: "Who is the superhero in your eyes?" Young children have lovely answers with answers such as familiar superhero characters such as Spider-man, Captain American, Batman or Superman, etc.
Every great hero has a sidekick. The sidekick is their go to guy, the one that they rely on to get through difficulties. In the play Hamlet, Horatio is Hamlet's right hand man. He is loyal and supportive of Hamlet even when he makes some questionable decisions, which he does a lot. In the novel The Road, the boy is the man's sidekick. Not only is he his sidekick but he is his lifeline, he’s the main reason the man keeps on living. The boy is very respectful and devoted to his father. Every good sidekick will be loyal to his hero no matter what, and will stay by his side through thick and then.
Though I am inclined to agree that the practicality of costumes is not necessarily there in regards to most superheroes, I believe these features are iconic in the representation of superheroes. The change of costume is vital in giving “the wearer the psychological advantage of feeling like a different person in their costume than in their civilian clothes (Brownie and Graydon 13). However, these costumes in a realistic setting suddenly become impractical, constricting movement or even vision for costumes such as Batman’s. Especially in regards to actual combat, I doubt any superhero’s costume would be protective, but rather the costume itself becomes a performance. In this case, I believe that superheroes need their costumes in order to truly
Superman has powers like flying, x-rays, and heat vision. With his power Superman faces responsibilities and difficulties in calm and adequate ways. The opposite of Batman is that he is more aggressive and very impulsive in the moment to attack. They are very easily distinguished either in a comic book or a movie for their customs in different colors. Batman outfit is gray with black and a mask which anyone could determine the evil and dark he represents by the outside. Superman is in a brightest outfit representing America and the kind a hero they will choose definitely to fight crime. Frank Miller only wanted to bring Batman a little bit different with other perceptions including his principal rival Superman to make the story interesting and give the opportunity for many readers to notice wrong actions from our comic heroes.
When you think of a superhero one normally thinks of Spiderman, Batman, or Superman, but there were superheroes long before these characters were created. First one must understand that the basis of this name is hero. What is a hero? A hero is a person who does something special or out of the ordinary in order to help others. It could also be someone who is admired for a characteristic about them, be it physical or mental. They are individuals that normal everyday people can look up to. This being the case, a superhero is nothing more then someone who is a hero, but not just that once and for that one person, but someone who helps many people, or leads them. As time went by the number of people who were true heroes diminished and just
