When it comes to taking care of your body, there are multiple treatments that you can do to help get the most out of it. Whether it’s acupuncture or a massage, there are so many ways to take care of yourself. However, one such treatment is not as well known, and yet it can have a ton of benefits for not only your physical self but your spiritual and mental well-being as well. What are we talking about? This can be done in a variety of ways, but some of the most common are with salts. The treatments are typically called body scrubs, but they can also be referred to as body polishes or sea-salt scrubs. The material may differ depending on where you get your treatment done, but the most common scrubs are salt, coffee grounds, and even nut shells. In addition to the abrasive material, many times you will also be treated with oil and citrus to help your skin open up even more. Body Treatment Process Here’s what you can expect from a typical body treatment: First, you’ll lay down on a table with some kind of thin covering on it. This covering may be a sheet, a layer of plastic, or even just a towel. Second, the therapist will rub the mixture into your back, legs, and arms. Third, once you’ve been covered in the treatment, you’ll need to rinse it off in a shower. In some cases, a shower will be placed above the table itself so you won’t need to leave the room, but that’s not true for all locations. Finally, the therapist will cover your other side and repeat the whole process. In many instances, the body scrub is the first part which is then followed by a wrap. The wrap may be with seaweed or mud, but the point of it is to help hydrate and keep your skin velvety smooth for a much longer
