In this journal, I will reflect my initial journal from the start of the course. I will briefly discuss how my academic writing changing over the duration of this course. I will also discuss the areas I need to improve in the most and lastly, the areas I need further guidance and strategies to improve that were identified. Overview As I reflect and self-assess my initial journal, I realized that I had a lack of confidence in my ability to be a scholar. I predetermined that I was not a scholar writer. However, from the feedback I have received over the last few weeks I am a scholar writer in the making. Writing properly can be very challenging for a new student embarking on being a scholarly, professional writer. Before starting assignments, it is important to read very broadly about the main topics of the assignment, and also read the specific chapters listed in the assignment, because they will guide a student’s thoughts in developing a paper.
Communication in writing skills for the past six weeks were standards information on different sorts of sources for rapidly flowing needs of today’s writers. This form of writing shows the role of strategies in writing on subjects. It demonstrated contracts between oral communication and written communication. The main ideas in this course discovery, objectives, critical thinking, and tension, valuing course resources time management, and cooperating with others (Giordano 2012). However, the skills for effective writing produce volumes of master’s level for the required resources in this way.

In last week's journal entry I stated that this week PVEPD would be conducting active shooter training, but the training is postponed for now. During this week’s shifts, I finished the putting together the emergency operation plan binders, cleaned the briefing room, and went to the department’s shooting range where I had the opportunity to shoot AR-15 and a Glock 22. I spent both Monday and Tuesday’s shift at the shooting in the basement of the police department. The shooting range which is located underneath the department and can be accessed through the parking garage. There are two rooms in the basement one room is storage for the gun range and the other room is the actually shooting range. Each room requires a special type of key and passcode
What I have learned for the first four weeks of the course has prompted me to initiate new policies in testing administration together with training workshops for teachers in my division. The aims are to work toward better quality test practice: using tests for reflection on students’ progress rather than failing or passing students and improving the present test giving practice in weak areas such as validity, reliability, wash back.
I most recently submitted an assignment with formatting and grammatical errors. The formatting errors can be corrected by carefully reviewing the Bryant Stratton APA guide. The grammatical errors can be avoided by re-reading and using spell checker to make sure words are spelled correctly.
During this unit, my academic literacy has advanced greatly. After analysis from writers diet and paper rater. I have evaluated the results & comments and taken them into consideration as to work on my weaknesses. Throughout The semester I have acted on refining my writing via the use of online tasks, weekly readings, smart- thinking tool and peer guidance.

The entries I chose to reflect upon are journal entries three and four. Both entries dealt with the second writing prompt, which allowed the students to address the representation of White privilege in the media and raise awareness about its effect on a specific case. Additionally, both gave precise details about my writing process when constructing the Taylor Swift essay. What I am proud of is that these two entries were flip sides of the same argumentative coin. Additionally, these showcased my ability to use my distinct style in exact opposite conditions, by beginning with one point of view and ending with the entire paper’s focus ending in the converse.
Let me start by saying that I’ve improved somewhat throughout this course in regards to my writing capabilities. Though these skills are not perfect by any standards, it’s with some pride that I can say that they’ve developed somewhat. Specifically speaking, the categorizing of information from various articles with attribution to them when they’re used has gone up significantly. There were many times along the way that I would use the author’s ideas without properly accrediting them. Finding the information and resources to best suit my arguments was not an issue; however, incorporating citations to give credit to them was an issue. This letter will be mainly focused on the first paper, the summary, as it was my weakest attempt at writing a college level paper.

The APA manual also discusses the desired tone of writing, grammar, punctuation, formatting for numbers, and a variety of other important topics. Although the APA style rules are used in this template, the purpose of the template is only to demonstrate spacing and the general parts of the paper. The student will need to refer to the APA manual for other format directions. It has been amazing journey for me to have a class with Prof Milambiling as we always discovered new terms and issues in the field of TESOL. Many times, that I was just amazed with the topic of discussion in each meeting as I always forget that we only have 50 minutes to cover that topic. In this journal, I would like to share my notes about two topics that have inspired me to give more contribution to my work field and these issues were so unfortunate not to be discussed further in the class due to the limitation of time.
