The Ted Talk “Inside The Mind of A Master Procrastination,” by Tim Urban, explain how he claims that everyone procrastinates even if they don't know it. He uses evidence to prove his point such, as his personal experience and refers back to his blog to prove his idea. He claims that there are two types of precaution when there is a short-term effect of procrastination and a long-term of procrastination. Throughout the TED talk Urban uses multiple of examples to make his point across the audience. The first evidence he uses to explain what procrastination is and how it works. The example he used was how Urban was supposed to write his thesis and he made a schedule the first few months he would do the minimal work, the middle months before the deadline he would do about twice …show more content…

This was not the result as he planned he ended up writing it in 72 hours. He explained that there are two parts in our brain the first part that he referred to as the instant gratification monkey the part of the brain that goes on a tangent when a deadline is presented and wants to have it the easy way incorporated with some fun. The other part is the rational character that wants to get on target but shoulders off until the panic monster came up to let the monkey know that the deadline for an assignment is coming and then the rational part takes over to complete the deadline. The two types of procrastination or procrastination with a deadline that's where “there are deadlines the effects of procrastination are contained to the short-term effect.” Therefore the panic monster had time to inverse and does not create the last effect.
