Inspired by a novel in 1986, a life changing American movie, “Forrest Gump” was released in 1994. This movie was an inspiration to everyone. Considering, “The film grossed $24.5 million over the weekend, tying for first place with "The Lion King" (Weinraub). This movie pertains to a man with very little intelligence whose goal was to achieve something beneficial in his life, but faced many challenges along the way. He did not have a high IQ and had a medical condition but he never let that stop him from being successful. He was known as a hero to some people. He influenced, helped, and inspired everyone he met. Jenny and Forrest decided to get married and this brought great happiness to them both. After being married for a short time, Jenny passed away from a terminal illness. “Gump’s mother (Sally Field) believes that "you make your own destiny. “You have to do the best with what God gave you." (Chumo II). Throughout his life Forrest thought this statement was true until he went through the loss of his wife, Jenny that he loved so much. His thoughts were “I don't know if we each have a destiny, or if we're all just floatin' around acci-dental-like on a breeze. But I, I think maybe it's both. Maybe both is happening at the same time” (Chumo II). Going through this loss was hard for him but he was happy to have Forrest Jr. to protect and take care of. Forrest showed us that true love and happiness can exist no matter what road life takes us down. Forrest was riding on the army busy when he met bubba. However, Forrest’s was raised very racists but that did not stop their friendship. “Bubba solidifies their relationship: “You know why we’re a good partnership, Forrest? ‘Cause we be watchin’ out for one another, like brothers and stuff” (Chumo II). They greatly depended on each other and Forrest overcame racial enmity. He and Bubba connected well and became the best of friends during their time in Vietnam.
