DEBATE: INERGRATING CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES Integrating children with disabilities in a traditional classroom setting are important to a certain extent. Social skills and learning abilities as a non disabled child plays a huge role as to how, when and what classes, children with special needs should integrate into. Statistics also show that children with developmental delays have raised significantly since the 1990’s says Michelle Diament, writer for the disability scoop. Each statement above plays a major role part in building a system for disabled students to be integrated. When and why students with disabilities should be partially integrated is considered to be a hard choice when facts are a factor.

Such as Auditory Processing Disorder (APD), The Learning Disabilities Association of America states that, Auditory processing disorder, also known as Central Auditory processing is a condition that adversely affects how sound that travels unimpaired through the ear is processed or interrupted through the brain. Individuals with APD do not recognize subtle differences between sounds in words, even when the sounds are loud and clear enough to be heard. They can also find it difficult to tell where sounds are coming from making sense of the order of the sounds or to block out competing background noises. By the same token The Learning Disabilities Association of America also states that Dyscalculia is a specific learning disability that affects a person’s ability to understand numbers and learn math facts. That is to say with other disability stated previously will create a learning curve for students that cannot comprehend at the same level as students that are able to comprehend quickly. Not only will there be a learning curve for no disabled students, but disabled students will not get the lesson on their level of comprehension, which will lead to failing grades because of fast paced environments and teaching techniques. Consequently, partial integration should be mandatory with proper scheduling and timing due to comprehension levels for children with
